Links I Love Week 29 Year 2024
It feels good to be home! We had a long drive to Cleveland and a shorter day two to get home to Chicago. Henri doesn’t sleep in the car, so by the time we got home, he was zonked and immediately fell asleep on the kitchen floor. We had some sorting and unpacking, and he just slept through it. Laundry was on the top of my list, and then grocery shopping.
When I returned from the grocery store, I picked up packages at UPS, including my new working phone. A forced digital detox was one of the best parts of the vacation. In case you missed it, I dropped my phone, and the front cracked at the very beginning of our trip. It worked for some minutes and shut off for hours. The hardest part was not having it for photos because I depended on it as a visual storyteller.
We made it home just in time for me to catch up with my aunt and uncle, who were visiting Chicago to celebrate their 50th anniversary. My cousin and her husband joined in on the fun, and it was nice to see them all.
This week’s links are filled with many Paris tips and guides. As the city gets ready for the Paris Olympics later this week, while you may not be planning a trip to Paris for the games, it’s good to take notes of these restaurants and bakeries for future visits.

The team at Away sent me their new soft-side luggage to try out. My husband travels a lot for work, and he pulled it out of the box, saying it was “perfect for him.” We both have multiple pieces that we have purchased over the years.
One thing to note is that it does not unzip from the middle; it zips from the top. I chose the regular carry-on in black because I have the larger hard shell carry-on. We have an upcoming trip to Philly for the weekend, and I can’t wait to try it out and report back.

Paris is prepping for the Olympics this week, which means roads will be closed for security these next few weeks, hurting small businesses. Many are not reporting on this. My friend Jane at La Cuisine shared this video, which I felt was important to pass along.

The coffee maker that is one step up from the one we have is on sale and less than the one we have. We only chose our current model because it didn’t have a video screen. It was a tough decision, and this one looks stunning. The Breville machines are so easy to use.

Hello, Rebecca!
Don’t miss the park at Rittenhouse Square! I adore The Bakeshop on 20th. Try the blueberry muffin at Metropolitan Bakery. And if you wanted to Frenchify your Philly visit, then definitely breakfast at J’aime French Café and dine at Parc! Sample gelato at Vita for dessert. Walnut Street has great shopping like J.Crew and Madewell. The neighborhood has boutiques as well. Welcome to Philadelphia! I hope you two enjoy time with family!
Hello, Rebecca! I live in Philadelphia! What will you be doing here? Bon voyage!
Hi Michelle,
We have a quick weekend visit to see some of my husband’s family. Anything we can’t miss? xo
Did you see that there’s a season 2 in the works for Presumed Innocent? And I’d love to be watching the finale this week with your friend…. So we could lay bets on WHO DID IT?!
Hi Sara,
Yes!! I did see that a few days ago. I think Presumed Innocent is one of the most watched shows on record. I am curious to see what happens next in season 2. I have a hunch on who did it… But now I have two theories someone else that we may not be looking at could be involved. I will email you later so I don’t spoil it for the readers who are behind! xo
