Sézane Bag Review
Sézane has been my go-to for bags to accessorize. I have several of their bags, and my collection is growing. Sézane is one of my favorite French brands for a few reasons. Their high quality and classic styles have stood the test of time in my closet year after year. Sézane bags are an investment you will want to make for your wardrobe. My blog post on Sézane sizing has been among my most popular posts for many years. I am ready to dive deeply into a Sézane bag review to answer all your questions.
Sézane Bag Review
A few great features of Sézane bags are the adjustable straps. You can lengthen or shorten the adjustable leather strap by moving the loops up or down and securing the metal snaps and toggle into place. I prefer a cross-body bag over a shoulder bag; it is simple. I had no idea you could do this when I got my first Sézane bag.
The Claude and Milo bags have a lot of pockets. The front and back have extra spots for tickets, receipts, papers, and credit cards. You should secure your wallet, phone, and keys inside with the gold metal clasp.
Each bag has a duster bag for storage to keep them looking their best. The leather is soft and can scratch or scuff from regular wear and tear. You can ask for their leather conditioner to be included in your order. Apply it with a soft cloth to rehydrate the leather and bring it back to life.
Monnogram your Sézane Bag
Sézane can add up to three letters in gold to the back of any bag or wallet. I have RP initialed on my wallet and would love to add it to one or more bags.
Sézane Milo Bag Review
One of my first Sézane bags was the Milo bag. I bought it in brown leather and have used it many times in the past few years. The brown leather is versatile, making it easy to pair for spring and fall. Sézane Milo Bag is 17x24x4,5cm / 6.7×9.4×1.8 in.
It is a bit larger than the Claude bag and is square. If you are exploring Paris, you can fit a book inside or even The Paris Guide. Several pockets make it easy to keep your belongings, receipts, and anything else organized. The leather on this bag is soft so expect a few scratches to break it in and give it character.
Farrow Bag
The Farrow bag is a great bucket bag that comes in different sizes. Depending on what you will be carrying and where you are bringing your bag, there is a regular Farrow bag and a mini farrow bag.
I own the mini Farrow bag in brown leather, and I just purchased the green one from the newest collection. Both are great colors for fall.
You can easily fit a wallet, phone, lipstick, and keys inside.
Sizing for the Sézane Farrow Bag
The Sézane Farrow Bag is slightly larger than the mini Farrow bag: 26 x 23.5 x 17 cm / 10.2 x 9.2 x 6.7 in. I only own the Mini Sézane Farrow bag and find it holds enough for me for date nights and running around Chicago and Paris. The bag measures: 21 x 15 x 15 cm / 8.3 x 5.9 x 5.9 in
Claude Bag Review
Sézane launched the Claude bag a rounded version of the famous Milo bag last fall. They were kind enough to gift it to me, and I have used it ever since. I have the black glossy color, and I find it every occasion to wear it out. The Claude Sézane bag comes in a variety of different colors. I played it safe with black but love blue and green options as well. Some colors are out of stock; you can always create an alert, and the brand will email you when available.
The Claude Bag dimensions are: 15.5 x 6.5 x 20 cm / 6.1 x 2.6 x 7.9 in

Sézane Styling of The Gabin Bag
Another influencer influenced me to buy the Gabin bag. It was on my wish list for a while, but I hadn’t seen it in person. Emily Schuman shared it in an Instagram story, and I immediately bought it even though it was mid-summer. I know it will be perfect for the fall months. I recently styled it with the Clyde trench and love how you can reshape the bag by folding in the edges to create a triangle shape. The Gabin bag is made of great-quality suede and comes in multiple colors. Camel is lighter in person, and I do love the grey for something different; there is also a classic black.
The Gabin bag is large enough for a weekend away or to fit all your work accessories, including a laptop, notebook, and sweater or scarf in the colder months. It would also look super cute with a little scarf accessorized on the strap.
For pockets, there is a small zipped pocket inside for valuables and a small one on the exterior. The Gabin camel and grey are both made from suede, and the bag is just under two pounds without anything in it. It is a little heavier than the other Sézane bags—something to remember if you want a light weekend bag to throw over your shoulder.

Sézane Basket Bags
The Paloma Sézane Basket Bag is a larger bag for picnics or the market. Pack a lunch, picnic blanket, and a baguette for the perfect afternoon.
Dimensions for the Palomar Sézane Bag 60 x 34 x 24 cm / 23.6 x 13.4 x 9.4 in
How to Style a Sézane Bag
Bring your Palomar Sézane bag to the market. This basket bag makes an easy transition from summer to fall.
For the summer, basket bags are one of the hottest accessories. While French women have been wearing them for years, this is a newer trend in the US. Sézane has some classic basket bags they bring back yearly, such as the bag. They also have a few new styles. I added the Justine bag to my wardrobe. It is a smaller basket bag than the original one I purchased. You can use the handles or the longer shoulder strap, depending on how you want to style and hold it. Inside is a drawstring closure to pull shut.
The dimensions of the Justine Sézane bag 25 x 51 x 18 cm / 9.8 x 20.1 x 7.1 in
Sézane Tote Bags
Sézane Tote Bags are great canvas bags included in some Sézane orders depending on the promotion and time of year. The Sézane tote bag has so many uses, and I collect mine for groceries, packing shoes in my luggage, market runs, and so much more. They also make the best school bags for lunches and extra books and papers. French women are known for carrying these Sézane canvas totes to work alongside their leather work bags.

Thank you for this post! I have been going back and forth with which one to buy. A few questions: I love the farrow bag but wondered while walking around Paris and pickpocketing for instance would you not use that one since it doesn’t zip or clasp shut? Also if I’m using a straw tote while in Paris would you recommend maybe the Claude bag since it’s smaller? Thanks!
Hi Blair,
The mini Farrow would be good for walking around Paris. You can pull it shut with the strings. It isn’t pickpocket proof as much as a clasp or zipper bag but you won’t be able to get your hand in the inside without maneuvering the straps a bit. Depending on how much you plan to keep inside, I recommend the bag always being in front of your body instead of behind.
Can you explain more about using a straw tote and the Claude bag together? I don’t understand the question. Will you be carrying them together? The Claude is great and one my favorites. You can fit a phone and wallet inside. The Milo is better if you are looking to fit a notebook or book inside along with your phone.
I hope this helps! xo
Hi Rebecca, thank you so much for these helpful reviews! So much temptation! So expensive online though from Australia, would it be less so to buy in store when I’m in Paris in October? On the French site at €345 it’s approximately A$146 less than the Australian site.
I’d appreciate your advice.
Thank you ☺️
Hi Sylvia,
Yes, if you are in Paris and have the opportunity it should be cheaper. They may have limited stock but should be able to ship in to you if it is not available in store so make sure to ask for that option. xo
