Luxembourg Summer in Paris everyday parisian

I had a full week of travel. After a weekend in Boston, I had a quick turnaround for Ohio on Tuesday. I went home to see the dentist and get some work done. The drive was long but I was lucky to have the best co-pilot. (Henri) I was able to see some of my best friends from high school and my uncle’s trip overlapped with mine at the end. It was so great to see family and be in my hometown for a few days.

I am home for a few weeks in Chicago and very much looking forward to soaking up summer in the city. It feels like this year is flying by.

I am spending my Sunday afternoon at Hotel Zachary for a Cheesescapes event to learn how to make a cheeseboard from the masters. I feel this is an important skill considering cheese is one of my love languages. There are still tickets available here if you want to join me. I am going solo!

I love listening to business podcasts. My friend Alexis mentioned The Laundress episode on  How I Built This after telling her how much I loved the brand and I then discovered the La Colombe episode on my drive. One of the owners is French and it was fun to listen to the history of one of my favorite coffee places in the city.

If you listen to The Laundress and are curious about their products, it’s a great time to try them with 25% for friends and family. This is the last weekend for this. I couldn’t rave about their products more. Plus, the one thing you need in your laundry closet is this stain remover. Trust me!

Afar has a great Chicago guide. I am often asked for my list which I am working on but if you are headed to Chicago this summer, this is a great start on where to eat and explore.

This is a fascinating article on why some people get freckles. You aren’t born with them. I had them growing up and I miss them.

I will be gifting this to my sister during the holidays. I ordered my dad a duvet cover by request since I rave about the brand so much. Use the code SUMMER22 at checkout.

  1. Every few years the married name (or not) changing seems to make the rounds in articles! I think J. Lo, or now J. Aff perhaps had something to do with this new round? In many cultures it’s not as common for women to change their name, as it is in the USA, when they get married. I kept my last name when I married my husband 13 years ago. We discussed it, he was fine either way. Still very happily married! I think people should do what they want and as long as the two of you can come to an understanding about it, who cares what anyone else thinks. Keep it, change it, make a new one, etc!
