Links I Love Week 2

Shop Cafe Victor Hugo Print Here

It has been a bitterly cold week in Chicago. Henri and I have had to skip the dog park and long walks and play inside. One of my goals this year is to take some time off each week. I was going nonstop for months on end without a break in 2021 and I ended the year being burnt out. I am still trying to figure out my “day off” for the week but this time around it is a normal Saturday. I napped, did a yoga class, cooked, and had a slow day. I put a time limit on my social apps which is a new challenge. I hope I can continue this habit for 2022.

Grab your coffee and croissants and join me for this week’s links I love.

If you tried last week to grab a bag of coffee on me, I have a new code. Apparently, I shared all my referrals too quickly! I reached out to the brand for help and they gave a new code. I love this company because they highlight small roasters from across the US. Since we recently got a new coffee machine and switched from French Press to drip, we wanted whole beans. You can take a quick flavor profile quiz and they recommend beans to try.

The Le Creuset grill pan is one of my favorite kitchen items. I have been using it daily to make chicken. It is way too cold to grill outside but this gives the same great flavor. It works the same way, just make sure to spray with a little olive oil before grilling.

  1. Hello Rebecca. Im so excited to find your site. I listen to Shannon’s The Simple Sophosticate and learned about you there. I also live in Chicago and enjoy all things London and Paris. I live in Lincoln Park (recently moved from the burbs with my husband as empty nesters) and would love any hints on local places you enjoy here in Chicago as well. I love shopping at Posh for a few things but any Chicago hints would be fun to hear! Love your site. Look forward to being here!

    • Hi Pam,

Thank you so much! I am happy you found me through Shannon’s podcast. Welcome to Lincoln Park. I wrote this blog post on Chicago French favorites here: https://everydayparisian.com/frenchify-a-weekend-in-chicago/

Try the Green City Farmers Market in the summer. Also, Chez Moi is a good family-owned French neighborhood spot in LP. I love Mon Ami Gabi for drinks and their patio but haven’t loved the food as much. The bar is a good date night spot.
