Week 45 Links I Love Year 2024

Parisian apartment Parc Monceau

Hello from Washington, DC. I am visiting my husband’s family for the weekend. One of my best friends from growing up also lives in the area, so I combined the trip to spend some time with her and her kids. I have known her family since I was young, and it was so great to see each other. We cooked, told stories, and laughed until we cried. Much needed!

Henri had a check-up at the vet this week and was cleared of pneumonia. He still has some antibiotics and has to take it easy until he is fully recovered. One of our neighbors is watching him, and we are so grateful.

I love this dress and these shoes for the holidays. What a fun outfit for a party!

Roz has become my go-to for hair care. I first discovered them through Credo, and Amanda, who does my hair, has been recommending them to me for products. They are clean and smell so good. I just bought the shampoo after my haircut, and now I want this travel set for the holidays.

How to store cheese properly. Spoiler alert: you are probably doing it wrong.

La Ligne is a great resource for sweaters. I have crushed on so many over the years. They are offering readers 10% off with code REBECCA10. This makes a great holiday gift! This sweater is the cutest and may need to be on Henri’s holiday list.

Old Money Fall Outfits

I love this sweater especially in black with the cream trim. It would go great with jeans and boots or a pair of wide legged trousers

I love using The Laundress for my laundry. We recently got a new washer and dryer and I bought new detergent for the occasion. Some of my favorites include their whites detergent, cashmere and wool, and their stain remover is a game changer. You need to keep this in your laundry closet. There is a code for VIP25 for 25% off.

My husband and I regularly send recipes back and forth on Instagram. I cook at home often, and I love to bookmark anything new that sounds delicious. We tried this recipe over the weekend and enjoyed it. I wish Love and Lemons would add it to her site vs an Instagram post. We initially did it with sweet potato gnocchi, and I would like to try it with regular gnocchi next time. My husband stole the leftovers for lunch. Add a protein to pair with it; we grilled chicken.

One of the style trends this fall is a tweed jacket. Here is how to style one this season.

A low-key French island is worth adding to your travel list. My Paris family mentioned it a few years ago, and I have wanted to go ever since.

Dieticians say this is the best time to eat dinner. I am fully on board with this! It is a bit different in Europe, and I have a later dinner time, but I try to eat on the earlier side since I go to bed early.

  1. My only visit to Paris was in early December, a cool and rainy long weekend. It was magical, more so with the holiday decorations and decorated store windows. I picked up two Christmas ornaments — a Santa carrying the Eiffel Tower from a street vendor, and a small navy and gold Limoges ball from the American Embassy in Paris’ gift shop. Every year when I decorate our tree I remark they are my favorite ornaments and remember the wonderful time we had. Small beauties.

  2. The 20 leadership books for women are an excellent and inspiring selection. Thank you so much for posting that link!

  3. Hello Rebecca 🤗
I always, really enjoy reading your newsletters…..
This year I was lucky to visit Paris in Mai, alone. It was beautiful walking everywhere, as you suggest. So much to see. It didn’t matter the skies were grey. Can’t wait. To get back.
I am so young at heart still, even, now we are called seniors…🤭
    Regards,
    Danielle
