Links I Love Week 41

Paris Luxembourg Gardens

I hope you had a great week! It was filled with ups and downs for me. Luckily, my family and their homes are all safe after Milton in Florida. My heart goes out to those suffering loss or damage from Helene and Milton. A project I have been working on for months is moving forward. I can’t wait to share more with you soon. Email subscribers will be the first to know.

As I begin to travel this week, Henri has started Boot Camp. He was a Pandemic puppy and never got the proper training he needed. This timing worked best so he could play and train with a great team. I know I am in for a lot of training myself, and we will work together once I am home. Right now, I miss him at my feet and in the kitchen, especially when I cook.

We hosted friends this weekend for Break Fast, and I couldn’t stop thinking about Ina Garten while I prepared my “dinner party.” I have been enjoying her memoir on audiobook so much and am trying to convince my husband we should be Ina and Jeffrey for Halloween.

P.S. You may notice that ADs are no longer running on EDP as you read this week’s links. This was a test, and I honestly felt it was distracting. While it is a great way to earn passive income, I didn’t love the user experience for readers. My support team was able to fix that, and I hope you enjoy the updates on the blog and can enjoy my content. I appreciate your patience.

You have to see this 100-year-old home in Pennsylvania in Architectural Digest. I want to save many of these rooms to my Pinterest dream board.

I made this French Apple Cake this weekend. It has become a favorite over the last couple of years and is always a hit with guests.

You know you hit the big time when an ornament is created just for you. I discovered this one while prepping gift guides. You can see a preview of my ornament round-up here. These always sell out so fast!

This Kathy Bates CBS This Morning clip left me in tears. I love what she said about her mom. I also enjoyed the Pharell clip. Both were fun to watch.

Everlane has some great fall styles I love, including these Chelsea boots, which I just bought in black. They are the perfect boots for Paris. After I bought them, they introduced 25% Friends and Family. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity. Some of my other favorite Everlane items are below.

25 best fall movies for the crisp weekends ahead

This Week’s Best Sellers include the most flattering black dress and one of my favorite holiday traditions from Department 56.

This red cashmere sweater caught my eye. Red is a hot color for fall; you can wear it from fall through the holidays. It would be so cute to wear a black skirt or velvet pants.

Chicago gets a new French restaurant in Lakeview. We dined there last weekend. It still has its opening hiccups, but I think it has potential. I love the smaller neighborhood vibe vs some of the larger downtown spots.

I am curious to see the new Tom Hanks movie, Time. The cast may look familiar to Forest Gump fans.

Lifestyle habits to help you live to 100

I bought this pleated skirt from J.Crew recently on sale. I paired it with boots and a sweater for the temple this week. I loved it, and I can’t wait to repeat this outfit.

I absolutely love this monochromatic look and need to recreate it this fall.

One change to your social media routine can improve your mood. I am trying to do this!

All the outfits from Nobody Wants This, PS. Did you catch this Sézane bag?

Jenni Kayne is 20% off everything. I love their sweaters and think this is a great time to invest in a piece with the discount. They only do this a few times a year.

My favorite LAKE set is now available in black! These sell quickly. I have four colors and wear them all fall/winter!

Travel makes life feel longer. I love this idea. Do you agree?

I am loving Frank and Eileen’s new arrivals for October. I have this coat in black, but they offer it in various colors. It is great for layering and is so comfortable.

Can you get your COVID and flu shots together? I did it last week, and it was a doozy. While I wouldn’t normally do it, I wanted to be protected before upcoming travel.

  1. We are returning to Paris for the 3rd visit next April. We have an apartment booked in the Marais for this upcoming trip. It will be our first time staying in this neighborhood and I am so excited for it. Thank you for the guide.

    • Hi Jacqueline,

I hope you have the best time this April. Please report back after your trip and let me know what you loved.

      xo

  2. Bonjour, Rebecca! Thanks for posting that oh-so-useflul link about how to text without cell service — this could be a lifesaver for so many. And also I so appreciate your eliminating the intrustive ads from your blog. Thank you for prioritizing your readers’ experience! xx Two more quick notes: (1) J. Crew has been knocking it out of the park lately, and (2) what I learned when training my pup years ago is that it’s just as much about training the owner as the dog. 🙂

    • Thank you, Alexandra. J.Crew really is knocking it out of the park. Thank you for your kind words. I know Henri and I have a lot of training together in our future.

  3. Hi Rebecca,
I just wanted to say how much I love your posts and look forward to getting them every week! Thank you for letting me visit Paris vicariously through you! I hope I can there myself soon!
    Hugs from Toronto!
    Joanna

    • Thank you, Joanna! I hope you get to travel to Paris soon. In the mean time, I am happy to take you vicariously through me. Have a great week! xo

  4. This week’s links are amazing! The Google map of Le Marais alone is priceless! Thank you so much. And thank you for removing the ads! XO

    • Thank you so much, Elizabeth! I need to update my Marais guide soon. I hope the map is helpful finding some great spots to discover on your next trip. xo
