Paris summer rooftop view

August flew by in a flash, and we are officially in September. To all the parents, stepparents, caregivers, and teachers with kids headed back to school, I wish you a wonderful start to the new year. We are soaking up the warm weather while we have it and plan to have a backyard BBQ on Monday. Paris prep is coming along, and I am excited to return in a few weeks. Fingers crossed, I can share that project I have hinted at with you soon. Email subscribers will be the first to know.

There are two feel-good stories this week. I am 100% the person who cries at the end of the news when they share good news. My husband turned on this Netflix series, “Inside the Mind of a Dog.” We watched it with Henri, and I was in tears. Henri is my first dog; I have learned so much in the past 3 1/2 years. Our bond continues to grow, and I am grateful to have him. Canine Companions looks like an incredible organization.

There has been a huge demand for the Paris 2025 Calendar, and I launched it early. Emails went out on Wednesday, and Presale pricing ends Sunday night. I love the cover, and it was voted that the months will be in French this year. The presale number helps me estimate how many calendars I order with my printer. I make just one larger order, and when they are sold out, they are gone for the year. The calendar sale helps support the blog and bring valuable and free content to you each week!

One of my favorite work bags is the system tote from Cuyana. I love that so many individual pieces can be snapped in and out, keeping you organized. I use this tote when carrying my laptop for meetings in the city or at a local coffee shop. The one piece I had been eyeing for a while now was the small pouch. I just ordered it in red for a pop of color.

I shot this polka-dot dress on the beach with Yulia and love these shots so much that I wanted to share them.

My other feel-good story of the week: I love how this 5th-grade teacher eats lunch with his students daily. It is a great way to connect with them and get to know the kids. I had some incredible teachers growing up, which reminds me of one of them.

I love our Breville coffee maker, which is on sale! In Philly, I picked up beans and fell in love with the roaster. I just bought two more bags for home. It feels good to support an independent coffee shop.

I have been using this serum from Mother Science for almost a month now and instantly saw a difference in my skin texture and complexion. It is currently on sale. Use LABORDAY24 for 20% off.  I will be placing an order for another bottle. The brand kindly gifted me one, and I have loved it.

Good news for Chicago: Foxtrot is coming back in September, and a few locations are planned to reopen. I got the good news in my inbox. Here are 45 brands we can expect so far.

J.Crew is running a 40% off sale; you don’t want to miss this if you want to update your closet for fall. I love this Madelyn blazer. I ordered this red lady jacket in size small, and it fits great. Also, this black dress (size 6) styled with a belt and sling-back shoes may be one of my favorite new looks.

Sézane sizing guide

I updated my Sézane sizing guide. This is helpful, especially with coat season. Some run larger, and others run smaller. I highly recommend adding any out-of-stock items to your wish list, and you will automatically get an email when they are back in stock. Their new collection is so good that I placed two orders and must decide what to keep and pack for Paris. They just introduced a kids’ line this Sunday, and they have a whole space dedicated to French snacks with recipes here.

  1. Hi Rebecca. I just came back from Paris and thanks for recommending Hotel Maison Mere. Stayed there for the last part of my visit and I plan to stay there again. First time staying in the 9th. Also stopped by Union Boulangerie on the last day to pick up sandwhiches and pastries. Merci!

    • Ernetsto,

Thank you for the great feedback! I am so happy you enjoyed your stay and was able to pop by Union Boulangerie for sandwiches and pastries. I hope your Paris trip was filled with great memories.

  2. If you have some influence with Sezane it would be so helpful to see the xxl and xxxl sizes on actual models who are xxl and xxxl. It’s difficult to order from North America when the clothes are only modelled by xs and small size models. Sizing charts are helpful but visuals are everything! Merci!
