My Paris Agenda: March 2025

My Paris Agenda posts are a tradition on Everyday Parisian. Typically, I write them before I leave for a trip so readers have an idea of my goals and plans while I am in Paris. It is a fun post to write and takes time to pull together. I hope you enjoy this roundup of My Paris Agenda: March 2025.

I typically don’t visit in March; my spring trip happens in April, around my birthday. This year, I am publishing my first book, and the final date for turning in photos and text is March 15. The timing was perfect to fill in any last-minute photo requests from my publishing team.

We have been finalizing a cover selection for my book Paris Every Day. My team called at the end of February and suggested shooting a cover with me in March. There was one day in the entire month that worked for the three of us. We just had one more detail to finalize: making sure Katie Donnelly had a free morning in her busy schedule. The stars aligned, and we had a date!

Where I Stayed in Paris

My trip coincided with Fashion Week in Paris. Due to poor planning and waiting until the last minute, finding accommodations within my budget was not easy. With a little nudge from my husband to break out of my comfort zone, I decided to try two different properties on this trip. While I don’t love moving hotels, it was pretty seamless. I could check out of one hotel at noon and take a quick Uber ride to the next hotel. The room was ready at the second hotel, but that was not always the case. The typical check-in time is 3 pm.

For safety and privacy reasons, I do not share where I stay until after I check out. This was a popular question in DMs. So here are all the details.

Where I Stayed in Paris: Esprit Saint Germain

esprit Saint Germain Paris

The first property for two nights was Esprit Saint Germain on Rue Saint Sulpice. After arriving jet-lagged from CDG airport, I was welcomed with a glass of champagne and a coffee. My room was a Superior Club Room with breakfast included. One of the features of the hotel that many travelers note in the reviews is the complimentary refreshments offered throughout the day in the lobby. I loved the breakfast room, fireplace, and cozy lobby space to enjoy jazz music in the evening.

Located steps from Saint Sulpice on a quiet side street, much of Paris was within walking distance just outside the front door. Esprit Saint Germain is close to Luxembourg Gardens, great coffee shops, and restaurants. I will do a more in-depth breakdown of the hotel in The Paris Diaries.

My Paris Agenda: Le Grand Hôtel Cayré

Where I stayed in Paris March 2025

Le Grand Hôtel Cayré opened last year and has been on my list of hotels to try. My husband and I walked past it on our visit in October and snuck a look into the lobby. On the first look, it was beautiful. The hotel was fully renovated and reopened at the end of 2024. My hesitation about renovated hotels is that they can look stunning in photos, but the details are far less impressive. To my surprise, Le Grand Hôtel Cayré blew me away with cleanliness, remodeling details, and overall service. The hotel has various room categories with different levels of service. Basic rooms will be cleaned every other day, and as you move up in room categories and prices, guests will get turn-down service and additional amenities.

I requested a balcony as it was possible with my room category, and they granted my wish upon arrival. Note that I paid for both rooms and booked directly on their site. These were not sponsored stays. For full transparency, I will break down my room categories and prices in The Paris Diaries.

The Best Croissant in Paris: A New Boulangerie to Discover

The best croissant in Paris

I detoured while walking to a Pilates class on my last day in Paris. I was close to the first hotel I stayed at in Paris during my solo trip in 2010. This hotel was nothing special, but it is still a core memory, as it was my first solo trip to Paris, and that trip changed my life. I stumbled upon a bakery, and the long line looked promising, so I decided to check it out. Per the advice of the customers ordering in front of me, I took a chocolate almond croissant. It was not my usual order, but I was confident the regulars in line knew best. The croissant was one of the best I have had in Paris. I will add it to the coffee croissant map and plan to return for another croissant on my next visit.

Discovering New Hidden Gems: The Paris Agenda

As a creature of habit I love returning to the same places over and over again. It is very easy to get into a routine and visit the same coffee shop and boulangerie you know will hit the spot for your cravings. Trying out two new hotels in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés neighborhood pushed me out of my comfort zone. The first thing I do when securing a hotel is to map out the location and what is nearby to discover. Coffee is first on the list. I want to know where I will find the perfect flat white when I wake up ready to explore Paris with my camera.

Hotel Concierges are a great resource. I sell a Paris Guide that includes information on where to eat, drink, stay, and explore. Finding the best spots takes a lot of research and trial and error. Using the knowledge of recommendations is always a key resource. I love asking for the help of hotel concierges and sharing some of my discoveries. It is a collaborative effort and a meaningful relationship if you can find a concierge you enjoy working with.

The Start of Spring Weather in Paris

Signs of spring in Paris

What surprised me the most about this trip was the early blossoms and signs of spring. Typically, the city starts with magnolia blossoms and slowly wakes up over the next few weeks with warmer temperatures. Next follows with an explosion of pink cherry blossoms all over the city. In early March, I found cherry blossoms in Luxembourg Gardens starting to bloom and a magnolia tree in the same blossoming state just around the corner. It is rare for them to bloom at the same time.

The Parisians enjoyed the warmer weather in the parks and the bustling cafés. According to friends, the weather had just turned the week of my arrival, and everyone was soaking it up.

I was able to swing by two markets on the Left Bank over the weekend. These strawberries were life-changing and not cheap. They were worth every penny because I can’t stop thinking about them. Pro tip: always look at the sign at the market to find out where the produce is coming from. These strawberries were from France and the first of the season.

Book Meeting: My Paris Agenda March 2025

lunch in Paris. The Paris Diaries March 2025

As I mentioned, this is my first book, a dream I have had for many years. It is wild that this dream is coming true. After our rainy café shoot on Monday, we had a team lunch to discuss book details. The book will launch presale this week as we have chosen a cover. We are just waiting for the final details and edits. Presale numbers are essential when publishing a book because they help determine how many books to order. The team has a formula; I trust them because they have been publishing for years! I am very goal-oriented and noted my presale and book sales goals and will update this post with the cover and link ASAP!

I am fortunate to have such a supportive book team with the same passion and love for Paris. Also, the cutest puppy was right by my feet, snoozing all through lunch.

What I Packed for Paris in March

I will need to write a separate post on what I packed for Paris in March. Layers are always key and an umbrella for rain in the forecast.

What I packed for Paris in the spring

margaux flats for Paris

For shoes, it was Vejas, Chelsea boots, and a pair of Margaux flats. A trench and scarf were perfect for the transitional spring weather. There were days when I needed to dress in layers and other days that I barely needed a coat.

Paris Pampering: Pilates, Manicure, Blowout

paris pilates society

On the last day of my trip, I took some time for me which included a Pilates class. An American opened an English speaking Pilates studio on the Left Bank and I was eager to support her and take a class. It was just what I needed to get a good workout in and end with an incredible Matcha that I am going to try to replicate at home.

I have gotten in the habit of having a blowout in Paris that will last a good amount of time with the right dry shampoo. Typically I go to John Louis David on Rue du Bac and can easily book online.

For a manicure, I popped by Free Peresphone another American female owned small business. This is where I found the perfect pale pink nail polish from Manucurist for the week.

I hope you enjoyed this post on My Paris Agenda: March 2025. There is still a lot more to share including where I ate and drank in Paris. I had some incredible meals and new discoveries.
