One of the biggest French brands in Paris right now is Sézane. It is no secret this is one of my favorite places to shop for classic French wardrobe pieces. The items ship directly from Paris, making each parcel feel like unwrapping a gift. Parcels are wrapped in tissue and sprayed with the brand’s signature scent. Sézane is on the pricier side, and they don’t offer sales. I do feel like they put out quality pieces, and they are worth investing in. Twice a year, they offer archives where they offer reduced prices on older pieces from past collections. If you are new to Sézane, shopping the archives takes a bit of strategy because the pieces are limited and go fast. I wrote this post to share a few tips on how to shop the Sézane archives.
The Sézane Archives happen twice a year, once in the summer and once in the winter. The winter archives will be released in January before spring launches, and the summer archives, most likely in August, before the new fall collection. I always recommend signing up for the Sézane app and their mailing list. You will receive push notifications when the archives are set to launch and as soon as they are available to shop. The brand doesn’t release the archive dates until close to launch.
There are also two phases; the first of the winter archives has been up for a week (launched January 24, 2024), and the second phase will be announced any day. Sézane puts out collections on Wednesdays and Sundays. So expect the next archives to drop on one of these days.
Knowing your size in Sézane categories will help you shop the archives best and get precisely what you want. This Sézane sizing guide will help with what items run small, big, and true to size.
For quick reference, I am usually a small in tops/sweaters, size up to a 38 in bottoms, coats I am a 4/36. I am typically an 8.5 for shoes and wear a solid 8 in almost all my Sézane shoes.
The best sellers will go quickly, so plan your strategy and budget. Make notes of the classic pieces you want to keep an eye out for, along with any fashion pieces you missed out on in the last year. I have seen them restock some sizes throughout the day on some pieces. Know your budget and shop accordingly. The reduced prices make it an excellent opportunity to purchase your first Sézane piece or add to your collection. Don’t feel the pressure to exceed your budget. There will always be something new to discover when you are ready.
Sézane offers free shipping for over $200 and free returns. The archives sale is not final, and the pieces can be returned. This is such an important key feature for anyone shopping the sale. You will want to grab anything that catches your eye in your size. Once you add the items to your cart, you will have 30 minutes to check out on the Sézane site. If you don’t check out within that period, it will be released for someone else to purchase.
