Links I Love Week 16

Jet lag is finally passed, but I miss sleeping a solid 9-6 am. I knew it was over when I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t go back to sleep. I am back to work and had a busy week writing blog posts. The first post was the most important, as so many have asked what life is like in Paris right now amongst the strikes and protests; you can read this post here.

My family is visiting for the next two weekends, and I am so excited! We have been working on a few minor house updates prepping for their visit. It will be my niece and nephew’s first visit since I moved a few years ago. Fingers crossed for decent spring weather so we can enjoy the city outdoors.

Grab your coffee and croissants and join me for jam-packed fun links I love.

For Earth Day, Klorane is offering 25% off, including my favorite eye patches. Pop these in the fridge for an extra cool down on a hot day. This is the shampoo I have been using from them for years; it smells so good.

Boll and Branch released pajamas in their same dreamy knit fabric. They run large, I am ordering a size extra small in these and will report back.

Another favorite pajama brand is currently on sale; this was the first gift from my now husband. Use the code BELLA25 for 25% off. He did so well, and I won’t part with the pajamas he got me four years ago.

The All the Light We Cannot See trailer and release date is here. This is one of my favorite WWII books that I have read. The trailer gave me goosebumps. I can’t wait for November. You still have time to read the book.

I had a facial at Biologique Recherche in Paris and loved it. I brought home a few products I am testing out before sharing more details. Here is a review that I found while researching if you are looking for more information on the brand.

Anything I do well in the kitchen is because of Ina Garten. From Jennifer Garner. A fun read if you are a fan of either.

Once I was home from Paris, I did a much-needed Target run picking up a few frames for home and a new red polish from Essie, which I used for a polish change this week and love.

For coffee beans, we are enjoying Trade coffee, which is from small roasters around the US, and Lavazza as a backup so we always have enough.

I forgot my favorite Sisley lipstick at home and had this lipstick from Merit in my bag, which I wore on repeat. This was a popular question from readers. I love the color.

How I Changed My Self-Perception With Self Portraits

For French skincare, I love Avène and always pick up a few things at a pharmacy in Paris. It is currently 20% off. Using the code SAVE20 You can buy it in the US directly through their website. This cream is a must-have for burns and cuts. Their sheet masks are a great self-care item, I used one of these and scared my husband. It’s a look for sure but also very effective. We also used them the night before the wedding with my mom, niece, and sister. They also just launched their new hydrance serum, which I have been using twice daily.

Le Select in Chicago has gotten some great press, but this article offers a different perspective. I was there again on Friday night, and some parts fell short.

I bought some of these hair tie scarves in Paris and cannot wait to wear them this summer. I didn’t expect to love them so much and need to buy more. This one too! Buying for Italy

What did you spend on your solo vacation? I loved this NYT article that covered different ages and destinations and the cost of traveling solo.

I ordered this end of bed bench this week for our bedroom. I wanted something for the bedroom and stumbled upon it while looking for outdoor furniture. It should come in the next couple of weeks!

  1. Hi-so glad you had an awesome trip! Can you remind me which Merit products you have tried/liked? I use the mascara but am looking for additional items. Thank you!

  2. Another great list of links. After Le Select arrived, we couldn’t wait to go. Perhaps that’s why I was so disappointed. Beautiful decor and we couldn’t wait for a virtual trip to Paris. But it didn’t happen. It was too expensive to call itself a “brasserie” and the food was disappointing considering the price tag.
I know I’m dating myself as we were regulars at Le Perroquet, and Les Nomades when it was a club. Also lesser places like Kiki’s delivered what they promised. Le Select has a way to go. A real brasserie would be wonderful.
