5 Best Rooftop Bars in Paris With A View

Warm weather has arrived in Paris, and the city is exploding with people wanting to enjoy the warm weather in the summer months. The entertaining space of most Parisians is at their local café terrace in their arrondissement. (neighborhood) In recent years, the city has seen a surge in rooftop terrace openings expanding the areas Parisians can enjoy on sunny days aside from the parks, Seine, and outside terrace. A lot of these include hotels and restaurants getting in on the action. It is the perfect place to enjoy delicious cocktails with a beautiful view of Paris. I have tried many of these rooftop spots over the years, and this is my top 5 list of best rooftop bars in Paris to enjoy on your next trip.

The Best Rooftop Bars in Paris

One of the original spots for a rooftop terrace in Paris is Galeries Lafayette, a department store in the city’s center. This is one of the best places in Paris to see panoramic views, including the Palais Garnier and other classic Parisian monuments. It is free to go to the top, and I highly recommend stopping by. The stained glass ceiling is also something not to be missed.

Hôtel Dame des Arts Rooftop Bar

I recently stayed at Hôtel Dame des Arts in Paris this spring, located in the Latin Quarter. The rooftop has some of the best views in Paris, and I will not lie when I say I partly booked the hotel for the views. My room on the 7th floor had similar views with the privacy of my balcony. Due to the weather, the cocktail bar wasn’t officially open during my stay, but you could grab a cocktail from the main bar in the lobby and take it to the roof to enjoy the Paris skyline at sunset. The hotel’s location is extremely close to Notre Dame, which you can see from the rooftop bar terrace, Sacre Coeur views of the Eiffel Tower,  and other Paris monuments. The perk of this hotel bar is that it isn’t just open for hotel guests to enjoy the

TOO Restaurant and Tactac Skybar

The TOO Restaurant and Tactac Skybar is a new addition to Paris and one not to be missed. It is located in the 13th arrondissement, so not in the center of Paris like the rest of the rooftop bars. This is THE place to go right now regarding Paris hot spots. It has been well-written in news publications over the past few weeks. Enjoy a cocktail from the Tactac Skybar and a lively music scene in the clouds. Expect great people watching and a scene with a view of the Paris rooftops.

You can enjoy their signature cocktails with or without alcohol or order classic cocktails. They had a detox juice on the menu that caught my eye. My husband and I were invited to be guests of the bar and restaurant to celebrate our birthdays in Paris earlier this month. I ordered a dirty martini, and he ordered a Negroni. This is a great place to watch the sunset with amazing views.

The view from the rooftop covers the Paris monuments from Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame and a great view of the Eiffel Tower. Book the TOO rooftop restaurant with a delicious menu for a unique dining experience. We enjoyed several dishes that our waiter recommended, but one that I can’t stop thinking about was the miso glazed eggplant. We enjoyed Pierre Hermé pastries for dessert while the Eiffel Tower sparkled in the background—a truly memorable experience celebrating a birthday in Paris or any special occasion.

Sequoia Rooftop Bar

The Sequoia rooftop bar is a part of the Kimpton St. Honoré Paris hotel, just a stone’s throw away from Boulevard Haussmann. I stayed at the hotel just when it opened last year, and the rooftop wasn’t open yet due to the weather and it not being the summer season for rooftops. As a hotel guest, I could see the view and experience the rooftops of Paris from Sequoia. It has a stunning view of the famous landmarks of Paris, including a very close view of the Opéra Garnier, which shouldn’t be missed. There is a 40 euro minimum spend for the rooftop, which should be considered before booking.

Madame Rêve

Madame Rêve is located in the heart of the city of light, providing incredible views of the rooftops of Paris, including the Centre Pompidou. The rooftop of the hôtel Madame Rêve is open to the public with an open-air terrace. It is a popular bar, and I highly recommend making reservations online here. We could grab a table without a reservation, and I think we were in luck with timing. They offer good cocktails, music, and a lively scene for people to watch. It’s a bonus that you can have private events here on the part of the large roof for dinner with friends or an event that happened during our visit.

Paris rooftop bars to visit

The food menu doesn’t start until 6 pm but looks incredible and worth a return visit for me to give it a try. There is a cocktail menu with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and a beer and fine wines menu.

Le Tout Paris

Le Tout-Paris is one of the most popular luxury rooftop bars with a breathtaking view of Pont Neuf, the Seine River, and the Eiffel Tower. Cocktails will run around 30 euros, and you pay for a cocktail with a view. This is the average price you will find at other luxury hotels in the city. This is a romantic spot in the city to watch the sunset or enjoy the fantastic views of the Parisian rooftops and architecture. Tout-Paris is open starting at 7 am for breakfast if you want to avoid the crowds. You can book your table here.

Other rooftop bars in Paris to consider for your next trip to Paris.

The Peninsula Hotel has a beautiful rooftop restaurant and bar that doesn’t get enough attention.

Terrass Hotel is always on the rooftop list, and I went to discover it and didn’t have the best service, so I can’t recommend it. There are a few other rooftop bars in Montmartre, including Hôtel Rochechouart, but it wasn’t open for terrace season when I popped by. Mama Shelter has an east and west rooftop location in Paris that are a bit further out of the center of Paris. Their pizza is one of my favorites in Paris and is worth exploring if you are in that direction.
