My Favorite Sézane Sweaters

Sézane Sweater Favorites

Sézane is one of the most recognized French sustainable brands for women right now. You don’t have to have a plane ticket to own a piece of Sézane. The brand offers free shipping for orders over $200 and if you order under the minimum, shipping is fairly reasonable. A frequently asked question I get from readers is for my favorite Sézane sweaters and if they were going to invest in a sweater, which ones do I recommend? Below are some of the favorites from Sézane that I own and wear on repeat. One of the reasons why I love the brand so much is the sweaters last from season to season. You are truly making an investment in your wardrobe when you purchase a Sézane piece. A lot of the styles I have chosen are classic colors and styles that are best sellers or part of the core collection that will be available year after year.

Seasonal Collections

Sézane releases new collections each month with different styles and colors. Currently, their latest collection is in honor of the 10-year anniversary and has a color palette of pastels. I picked up a few sweaters when I was in Paris on my last trip. They have L’appartement Sézane in the center of Paris which has a wide variety of their core collection and fashion styles. To shop the sweaters in-store, there is an actual sweater bar where the Sézane team can assist you with suggestions of colors and styles from the new collection and the core collection. There are a lot of styles that sell out fast so if you have your eye on something, don’t wait! I purchased the Howard sweater late last year and I love it so much but it sold out before I could even share it. I hope they bring it back next year or something similar.

Sézane also has a New York store location if you are in the US and would like to try on the items in-store to see your size. The sizing can be a bit challenging especially if you haven’t tried the brand before. My closet is filled with Sézane and I keep adding to my growing collection each season as it is one of my favorite brands. You can see my sizing guide here for help on everything from skirts to dresses, and sweaters. I typically take my usual size small in sweaters and shirts. The Gaspard sweater does run on the looser side which you can size down if you prefer.

Favorite Sézane Styles

The Gaspard jumper is part of the core collection and one of my favorite styles of Sézane sweaters, I own it in three colors! I packed the black sweater for our wedding week as an extra layering piece. We spent our honeymoon somewhere warm and it was a great piece to wear on a date night over a dress to keep warm once the sun went down. One of the reasons why I love the Gaspard sweater so much is that you can wear it in three different ways. There is beautiful button detail that you can wear in the front or back and open as a cardigan over a camisole or dress. It is such a great option as a versatile piece. I always recommend this as an introduction piece to the french brand. You will be hooked and want to buy more.

Other favorite styles right now include the Emile cardigan, I purchased this in sea mist in a size small. It also comes in beautiful camel, grey, and ecru. All solid staple colors.

Favorite Sézane Sweater Styles

The James jumper I purchased without hesitation when I saw the striped version. It has chunky buttons on the shoulders and is one of my favorite sweaters in my wardrobe. I have worn it too many times that I care to admit but at least I have maxed out the cost per wear. It comes in solid colors too and I am tempted to pick up another one.

The Louise jumper I saw on another influencer and immediately purchased the black version, the light beige was sold out in a size small. I am wearing it below here tucked into a Sézane skirt for a monochromatic look. If it gets restocked in size small, I would buy it. It is fairly simple with some button detail and slightly ballooned sleeves.

I picked up the Jose jumper in vanilla in size small which I am currently wearing with black jeans.

The Lucas jumper caught my eye for the Khaki green color which I immediately purchased. It also comes in navy, cream Ecru, and a navy and Ecru stripe.

Sézane Sizing

I always feel French sizing can run a bit smaller in comparison to American sizing. The brand has a great return policy so if you are in between sizes, you can order both and return the one that doesn’t work. This way you will know your sizing going forward for the brand. I typically take a size s in almost everything except I have to size up to a 6 in skirts and trousers. I have a smaller waist so this sizing threw me a bit but it is great information to know when ordering.

How to Take Care of Your Sézane Sweaters

The brand recommends using Woolite to wash your Sézane sweaters. You can either hand wash them or use the delicate cycle on your washer. Make sure to you cold water or else the sweaters will shrink. Let them hang dry on a rack or flat surface.

Other Sézane Favorites

The trench coat is a Sézane essential that you will have in your wardrobe for years. I purchased mine two years ago and I have worn it so many times. It is a great transitional piece in the spring and again in the fall. It often sells out and gets restocked so if for some reason they don’t have your size, keep an eye on restocks and sign up for the emails.

  1. Thank you for this article! Do you have a favorite Sezane location in Paris? I’m heading there next week for clothes shopping & was planning to hit the Rue de Saint-Fiacre in the 2nd location.
