My Beauty Travel Essentials
My Travel Beauty Essentials
Over the years, I have narrowed down all my travel beauty essentials to make packing for trips easy. I keep a travel bag filled with all my favorite beauty products so I don’t miss them while being away from home. I have had many hiccups along the way, with a missing deodorant or eye cream. Keeping duplicates of key items helps so much with packing. These are my favorite travel beauty essentials, along with my simplified beauty routine.
If I could pack my whole beauty cabinet, I would. I travel light with a carry-on. This TSA-friendly Caddence toiletry bag makes life so much easier and is the perfect clear bag for security. It closes well, and all the capsules keep all my beauty essentials safe and secure. The larger capsules hold a substantial amount, allowing me to last a week on the road.
I also keep my body wash, moisturizer for dry skin, and other travel-sized toiletries all together in my Cadence capsules and Parcel Bag.
For makeup, the Cadence bags snap together with magnets, making them not only beautiful on your bathroom counter but also easy to see what’s inside your bag. I also love the leather travel bags from Cuyana.
Haircare Beauty Essentials
When I travel to Paris, I love to get a blowout at a salon. This helps me feel pulled together for meetings and photos. Dry shampoo is the best for keeping my hair looking fresh for an extended period. I always wash my bangs and blow-dry with my Sisley brush to keep them styled the way I like them.
If I am traveling for pleasure and not for work, I make sure my Roz shampoo and conditioner are packed in my Cadence capsules. The leave-in conditioner is great for days when I air-dry my hair in the warmer months.
Skincare Travel Beauty Essentials
My friend Jennifer taught me early on to keep samples from my favorite beauty brands. These are the perfect travel sizes for your favorite products when taking short trips. I keep these in my makeup bag if I need just a small amount of an item for shorter trips. This is also a great way to pack a face mask if you only want to take one or two uses.
I love the Elemis cleansing balm. It fits easily into my Cadence capsules, and I have enough to last me a week.
Dr. Gross peel pads. These come in easy travel wipes. I exfoliate with these at night, and it keeps my skin glowing.
Mini Ice Roller. Now that I have tried it, I don’t want to be without it. It is small enough to fit in my bag. Additionally, many hotels offer a fridge in the room, allowing you to store the ice roller to keep it cold.
Maya Chia Vitamin C is part of my morning skincare routine, used as a serum and followed by hyaluronic acid under my moisturizer. I am currently loving the Embryolisse cream for keeping my dry skin hydrated. These are all my current skincare favorites.
Travel Essentials for Long Flights
For long-haul flights, I pack either my Away Everywhere bag, which also accommodates my camera and laptop, or my Cuyana zip tote as my personal item. I have found that keeping a smaller bag with easy-to-reach items for the flight helps me stay organized. Inside this Cuyana leather bag, I carry my Melatonin gummies, any medicine or pain reliever, lip balm, and hand cream. Due to the dry air on flights, staying hydrated is key.
Travel Skincare Essentials
On travel days, I ensure I arrive at the airport with clean and hydrated skin. This usually includes a heavier lotion and mask for an extra layer of protection during the long-haul flight. Depending on the time of year, I may wear a night oil on top. I arrive at the airport extra glowy. This eye mask from Sisley is ideal for reducing dark circles caused by dehydration and lack of sleep. I always keep it with me and make sure to apply a thick layer before putting on my sleep mask at bedtime.
A sheet mask is an excellent solution on the day you arrive. Try to fight jet lag and get to bed at a reasonable time on long travel days.
Makeup Travel Essentials
I keep my makeup and skincare routine compact when traveling because I am limited on space. Sunscreen is a must, and I typically use EltaMD and Iris and Romeo Weekend Skin, which has a tint that gives you a beautiful glow. You can wear Weekend Skin as a primer under makeup or on its own. Iris and Romeo also offer a great SPF lip balm, which I’m loving. Sisley is my favorite for makeup, which I use for photo shoots and special occasions. Their blush stick is excellent and gives the perfect pop of color on my cheeks.
I also love Merit for the foundation stick. They make life so easy during summer holidays or a weekend getaway, when I know I won’t be wearing much makeup.
Other Travel Essentials for a Long-Haul Flight
The first thing I do when I get to my hotel is brush my teeth. I make sure this is also an item I can easily locate in my travel bag, along with toothpaste. This floss is one of my favorite recommendations from my dental hygienist, and I never leave home without it.
