I am back home in Chicago with Henri and back into a routine. Jet lag is strong but thank goodness for summer weather and long nights. I celebrated my 6th anniversary of the blog this week at a celebration at Diptyque in Wicker Park. It was so much fun to meet readers in person and Henri was there too! He did great for his first indoor meetup.

Grab your coffee and croissants and join me for this week’s links I love.

Links I Love Week 28

I am very excited to start editing images from Italy and adding them to The Print Shop! I have had a lot of requests for some favorites. We will also be updating some of the art we have in our own home and printing and framing some for the walls. There will be a Lake Como and Portofino guide on the blog later this month.

If you have been watching the news, you know there was a tragic event in Highland Park which is a suburb of Chicago. I have friends who moved here after college to start families and who were in attendance at the parade. My heart goes out to each and everyone who is a part of the Highland Park community. One of my friends shared this and allowed me to share it here. There are multiple GoFund me pages, community resources, and meal trains for the Highland Park Victims. ❤️

Henri and I stopped by our local Green City Market this weekend and picked up fruits and vegetables. I am bummed peony season is over but we have blueberries for blueberry muffins. I have made this recipe each summer and love it. (via NYT and may require a subscription)

The paper bag shorts I mentioned a few weeks ago are currently on sale. I bought a pair. They run big so I purchased a 26. They should be at home when I arrive.

Architectural Artifacts is reopening in Chicago in a new location. If you love antiques, this is a great spot to spend an afternoon exploring for that perfect unique piece. It opens in the middle of July. There will be an all-day cafe with wine, small bites, coffee, and pizza.

I have been wearing this locket on repeat which is a gift from Monica Vinader. My niece Emma has been opening it and closing it with ideas on what to put inside. You can use the code REBECCA4JULY25 for 25% off at check out. Or REBECCA20 if that codes doesn’t work.

Before I left for Italy, I bought travel insurance through World Nomads.

As a travel photographer and blogger, keeping my equipment protected while traveling is so important. I didn’t have lost bags or hours of delays but my family did. This is where insurance is key.

I surrendered and watched Only Murders in the Building on the way home from Italy and found it entertaining and funny. My sister raved about it and it was a great opportunity to watch it on the long flight.

I spotted Birkenstocks ALL over Italy. They were even for sale at the local Pharmacy in Lake Como. This is the pair I have my eye on and they are also waterproof and great for the pool and beach.

  1. Welcome home, looking forward to your photos from Lake Como. Regarding pasta bowls, why not buy a set in Italy with of their gorgeous designs since you travel there often. There’s a large factory store, Ceramiche Cosmolena in Ravello, and all over the Amalfi Coast, with fabulous dishes. We just bought plates and pasta/salad bowls this past spring. https://www.ceramichecosmolena.com/en/

  2. We had a 5 hour delay on a flight back from Oslo and got almost $500 back. We didn’t even know about it and got a notification through the TripIt app. I you have to be on European carriers – it won’t apply if you are flying American carriers
