Links I Love Week 10

Henri and I are getting used to multiple walks a day. It gets my steps in and he gets his puppy energy out. He actually loves to run, and I really don’t like it at all. But, I am trying to compromise. I ordered new sneakers since I can’t find the old ones. Henri probably hid them somewhere since he has a shoe fetish. I will keep you posted on how my running progress goes as Spring begins.

Spring has started to pop in Paris and it makes my heart hurt even more for my favorite city. I am always in Paris at some point in the Spring and this marks my second year not there. I am watching friends enjoy it from a distance. I have some unshared photos of years past I will share here soon.

The weather has finally turned a corner in Chicago and we have had multiple days of sunshine. I can’t tell you how good this feels for my mental health and the snow is ALMOST gone. I even got outside without a coat.

Laguiole is on sale at Nordstrom Rack. I know a lot of people had mentioned Homegoods for this. Since I haven’t been in a Homegoods in over a year, this is a better bet. This makes a great housewarming gift or just a fun way to add a little French to your kitchen. I also have the knives in my kitchen.

  1. Love your posts! Thank you! It’s been a joy watching your puppy grow and learn. We had two gorgeous German Shepherds (lost years ago) and still miss them terribly…but, oh…what value they add to ones life.

I’m happy you directed us to the Wirecutter article regarding the Always Pan. The unrelenting You Tube ads have been insidiously pulling on me…but I’m grateful I held back. I too, have my workhouse LeCruset dutch ovens. I purchased a Made-In carbon steel pan some time ago, but have yet to season it. My All-Clad stainless steal skillets and large Lodge cast iron have been trusty cooking companions for many years, and they never let me down. Following your cooking journey has been great fun and motivating.
Have a great week ahead. Here in Wisconsin, we’ve also had warm sunny days and melting snow. Bring on Spring! 💐
