It’s finally time to get dressed again. We can ditch the sweatpants and meet friends on an outdoor patio or throw on a dress for a date night. There is nothing like a mood boost like getting a few new pieces for your wardrobe.
I have to be perfectly honest with my thoughts on the styles this season. I am not the biggest fan of the puffy sleeves and flowy dresses with no defined waist. This may be perfect if you want to hide a few pandemic pounds. I don’t think they are flattering at least for my body type. I did my my best to find dresses I loved that were available this season at approachable price points.
I placed a few orders for dresses last week and they should be here this week. One is already sold out from Nordstrom. I ordered a few from Mango that I included in this post. I haven’t had much luck with Mango but I sized up and I am going to give them a shot.
Top Left to Right
Club Monaco Sleeveless Tiered Dress I haven’t shopped at Club Monaco in a few years but I do love their classic styles. This is great for any Summer event
Ellie Nap Dress. This is the dress for Summer. It’s casual and comfortable. It comes in a bunch of different limited edition fabrics. I snatched up the white when I could. They say to size down one. It also comes in black which I haven’t had the opportunity to grab.
Linen Cami Button Down from Madewell. I have had my eye on this for months and I haven’t snatched it up yet. I have been waiting for it to go on sale and it just hasn’t happened. Sizes are slowly going away so I need to just do it. It’s going to be so fun for Summer and a great dress to throw on.
J.Crew Polka Dot Button Down Dress. This one is a similar style to the Madewell one but the fun addition of polka dots. It’s adorable and this is also on my list. J.Crew items have a higher chance of going on sale. Add to your basket now and watch for a sale.
Middle Left to Right
J.Crew Linen Tie Front Shirt. I have a long sleeve cotton version of this and it’s so flattering. Add a flat sandal and call it Summer.
This is the Sézane version just more structured and a different fabric. I love the addition of the belt. I believe the belt is extra but it’s a versatile accessory you can wear over and over.
Mini Puff Dress from Club Monaco. It’s under $150 and comes in black and white. It carries the puff sleeve trend but not too crazy.
This white dress is flattering, can be worn above or below the sleeves and it has pockets. SOLD!
Bottom Left to Right
Floral Print Tie Dress from Mango and under $100. I bought this one and I show it both on a model and not because they look very different. I will keep you posted on what I end up keeping.
The Noreen Dress by Reformation. This is their version of The Nap Dress. It comes in a solid purple and a fun Summer print.
Below I am wearing a J.Crew dress that is similar to the button down version now available at Madewell.
Boden Lola Jersey Dress Under $100
Mango Floral Print Dress. I ordered this one. Under $50
Sézane Sobrel Dress. This has been a reader favorite.
Rou dress from Reformation under $100. I have a similar dress in pink I love.
Sézane Cordelia Dress. This is a great belted option and very flattering.
Célia Dress in Black. This has trendy sleeves. I still think it’s cute and fun for an outdoor party/wedding this Summer.
Bottom Row (Left to Right)
Linen Button Front dress from Cuyana. I absolutely love this dress. It’s an investment piece of over $200. If I had a wedding to go to or a key event, this would be my top choice. I had a dress like this from Banana Republic that is over 10 years old and I still won’t let it go because it is flattering and classic.
Ruffles Flowy Dress. I bought this in green. I like it because it has a tie cinch at the waistline that you can help make it more form-fitting. I will follow up once it arrives.
Nella Polka Dot Dress from Sézane. I love the style of this dress and would buy it for a special occasion, wedding, or trip. It looks like an Italian holiday or South of France dress.
If you have come across some favorite dresses for Spring, I would love to know in the comments below.
