Where to Find Peonies in Paris

The first time I discovered peonies was in 2011 on a trip to the South of France. A man had a booth filled with peonies of all colors and my heart stopped. If you didn’t know I really like the color pink and these flowers were the perfect shade and they smelled heavenly. When I asked my Mom why I didn’t know about peonies until then she said she never let them in the house because of ants… So I am quickly making up for it as each Summer I buy a ton!

If you have been following me in Paris you know I head to the markets weekly and in the Summer I pick up my peonies from my favorite vendors. Fresh flowers are a wonderful addition to any home. In Paris the apartments are small so this helps add a pop of color and a good scent to those tiny spaces. If you are headed to Paris and you are the hunt for Peonies I created a map below for all of my favorite markets and shops on where to buy peonies.

Thank you so much for those who have supported my peony fund this Summer! I hope this post makes you happy and if you find yourself in Paris you can pick some up for yourself.

For those of you in other parts of the world where do you buy your peonies? In Chicago I have a few vendors at Green City Market. Feel free to comment below and I am happy to make a list for people to share.

    • I don’t know of any resources to grow your own peonies. The post was all about where to find peonies to purchase in Paris 🙂

    • Hi! The main season for peonies in Paris is April – June. The markets open up around 7/7:30 and close around 1/2 they are open pretty much every day around the city except for Mondays

    • It may be touch in Paris in January. I have seen some in Whole Foods in the US from South America but I have never seen them in January. They are a Summer flower.

  1. I’m obsessed with peonies too! What a great post, can’t wait to check out some of these places in Paris!
