Where to Buy a French Market Basket Online

I originally wrote this post last Summer. This is one of my most asked questions and some of the original items sold out so I wanted to update this with new products that are available now. This market bag from Etsy has been a reader favorite and affordably priced. I love bringing mine to my local market in Chicago to pick up fruits, veggies, and flowers. It is a fun way to bring the traditions and routines of French living home.

French Market Basket Online with flowersI love a good classic French market basket. I have owned a couple, one I bought in Paris at a market and I loved it. It made it home with me and unfortunately was damaged by rainwater. This past Summer I was in Nice with my family and I wanted to buy another one but traveling in a carry-on bag made this a difficult purchase decision. I decided to pass because traveling for two weeks in a carry-on plus a market bag would be too much.
There are some great options online to purchase them and have them shipped directly to you. I had a reader recently asked this question and I wanted to share in case others were curious too. There are so many adorable options online. All priced under $100.

  1. Not sure there is time to get the Etsy market basket from Morroco before our trip. Are the market baskets easy to find and purchase in Paris? Thinking that might be easier than trying to pack it for the airline COMING plus going home. We don’t have a lot of time in Paris, but are staying at Hotel Londres Eiffel very close to the Eiffel tower and Rue Cler. Thanks for your input. Your posts have been very informative and helpful. We’re following some of your suggestions.
