Links I Love Week 21 Year 2024

Eiffel Tower Summer Paris

Links I Love Week 21

My husband and I originally had plans to go away this weekend but ended up staying in Chicago. There is much to do before Wells Street Art Festival, and the list keeps growing. It has been nice to cook at home and have a slower weekend.

Before we begin this week, I wanted to recognize the significance of the holiday weekend in the United States. Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for all who have died serving our country. Thank you to those who serve in the military and those with family members who have sacrificed so much to keep us safe daily.

Grab your coffee and croissants, and join me for links I love.

Links I love are filled this week with some great articles. Some lengthy ones caught my attention. With the long weekend, I hope you allow yourself to enjoy them.

12 Provincial kitchens that should be on a Nancy Meyer’s film set

In Paris and beyond, 6 Sumptuous European Hotels

I love a good, feel-good story and typically cry at the end of the news broadcast during these stories. One from graduation is “Their Diplomas Came with Cash and a Catch.” A billionaire gifts 1,200 graduates an envelope with cash. They can keep half and must give the other half to a charity or person in need.

Does yoga count as strength training?

I made two amazing salads this week that I can’t stop thinking about. The first was a salad with mint, arugula, and parmesan. The second was a green goddess dressing with pickled onions, kale, and romaine. We added protein, chicken, or fish to go with them. They both can be found in this cookbook. I loved the cookbook so much that I immediately sent my sister a copy. We are always bouncing dinner ideas back and forth.

12 podcasts to help you learn French

Caudalie just introduced their sunscreen in the US. I ordered it to try! As you remember from a previous links I love that there are a lot of restrictions in the US on what is allowed to be sold for sunscreens. This is a big move in the right direction.

A hack to help you fall asleep on your next overnight flight. Alyssa tried this and said it worked.

Add these 15 places in Paris to your Olympic itinerary

My friend Katie made this strawberry cake, now on my to-make list. Strawberries are just popping up at our local market.

This week’s best sellers include an incredible dress under $100 and my favorite summer vacation hat.

I swear by these sneakers when walking around Paris. They are comfortable and on-trend for the French. You will see a lot of French men and women wearing this brand around the city.

The most stylish Saint Laurent looks on film

The editor who fought to publish Julia Child when no one else would. Such an interesting article!

My husband has never seen Midnight in Paris… yes I know. We watched it on the long weekend for a date night.  Our Samsung Frame TV is on sale this weekend. I put some of my art in the frame, which is a fun addition to our front room.

This pajama set from LAKE is back in stock. It sold out so fast last year. I wear a size small.

25 best airbnbs in the south of France

For the business lover, what happened to Etsy? When I started in 2010, this was my sole income. It has changed a lot since then.

This Quince dress is a dupe for the Jenni Kayne Rove dress I own for a fraction of the price.

How to embrace the slow decorating trend

What went wrong at beauty counter? This is a long but interesting read.

I just started listening to this new book by Gary V. He narrates it. If you are looking for a new business book to inspire you.

Memorial Day Sales to Shop

I originally planned a blog post for Friday but decided it was best to post links on Sunday. The retail world has really shifted to a sale-focused holiday. There is no pressure to buy anything here. I wanted to highlight just a few sales.

Boden is 25% off. I find their summer styles to be the best of everything. A few great dresses I snatched up recently have sold out quickly. Their bathing suits are wonderful, too, and super flattering. I size up to a 6 in their clothing.

Manicurist is 20% off during their weekend Flash Sale. I wear their green polish and use all their manicure accessories and tools. My husband asks if everyone brings all their products to get manicures, I do! This is a great starter set; you can add your polishes as you go. Peony is the color I currently have on my toes.

Anthropologie has many home items on sale. I want a new mirror for our dresser and am eyeing some of the ones below. We need a horizontal mirror instead of the vertical one we have now.

Monica Vinader gave me a code for 25% off using  PARISIANSPRING25

Dermstore summer sale is on now. Use the code SUN for up to 20% I love their travel size items for keeping up my skincare routine on the go
