Links I Love Week 18: Year 2026

I am happy to be back in Chicago for the entire month of May. While my husband has some upcoming travel planned, I am staying put. This is ideal for me at work because I have a lot planned. We joke that winter is not an ideal time to be in Chicago, but now is the perfect time to soak up what the city has to offer. Long walks, farmers markets, impromptu friend meet-ups, sporting events, and seeing our neighbors out and about.

300 women bought a French chateau and built an adult summer camp. This sounds like so much fun!

I rave about my Demi flats from Margaux ALL the time. They are actually among the best sellers year after year among EDP readers. Someone recently asked me the difference between Repettos and Margaux flats. I made a little video here. The Repettos were bought in 2013 and were barely worn but I can’t part with them. My dad bought them as a birthday gift, and I wanted them for SO long. The Margaux flats were purchased by me in 2021 and have been worn on repeat ever since, and have many Paris passport stamps.

One of my favorite blouses from last year is back, and they added a soft pink color. I recently wore the white version in Paris and it was stained from mineral sunscreen.

Update: after a few washes with this stain remover and hydrogen peroxide, she is looking as good as new! Cold, gentle wash and hang dry always. I restocked this stain remover because it works like a charm and has saved so many favorite pieces.

A seaside break from Nice, Marseille, or Paris. I love this Shortlisted Substack, and I hope you do, too!

Do you put your house/apartment to bed at night? I call it closing things down, and I didn’t know other people did it too. Waking up to a clean and organized house makes all the difference. Counters wiped, decluttered, blankets folded, dishwasher on, and trash outside. Maybe I should share my nighttime routine? I would love to know yours.

  1. Margaux shoes come in wide widths! My feet have gone duck-like as I’ve grown older. Still normal at the hell but wide/r at the forefoot and Margauxs are done on what’s called a combination last. The flats fit perfectly and I couldn’t find any closed shoe in the best shoe store in town. I have several pairs of ballet flats and one pair of sling-back heels and they are chic AND comfortable. When I lived in Paris I tried to find Repettos that fit but no luck and the salespersons were laughing at me.

  2. I 100% agree with the article on reality tv. I’ve been saying for years that Below Deck is a true study in anthropology, sociology, and psychology wrapped up in one. You have examples of every condition in the DSM. You have a window into how other people live and think. And of course, you have the disconnect between the uber wealthy with their 50,000 Birkins and the young folks who are just happy to get $1200 after 60 backbreaking hours of non-stop work.
