On my latest trip to Paris, I stayed at an apartment in the Marais. The apartment was not for rent but available as a fractional. If you aren’t familiar with fractional apartment ownership, you can see some FAQs here. A friend introduced me to the owner of Pied à Paris. When we spoke in the summer, she had just opened up thirteen available ownership shares. Due to the Olympics and summer travel, I booked a week in September to get a feel for the apartment and the neighborhood. As I prepared for my trip, Olga told me that just two ownership shares were left for Maison Chapon. The interest in the apartment has been high, and the location can’t be beaten. A Few Key Facts About Fractional Ownership

The apartment is owned by a small group of thirteen like-minded people who share it throughout the year. Each owner is given two weeks every six months for four weeks per year. This allows the owners to get a mix of seasons in Paris and experience the city at different times of the year. You know I love that! Paris is lovely year-round, and each season offers a unique feel. The shared ownership of the apartment gives you a “reason” to travel to Paris regularly and have your own space waiting for you in the city of light. If you aren’t sure you are ready to commit to Paris full-time, this is an excellent opportunity to own something in Paris and use it a few weeks out of the year. About Maison Chapon

The apartment is centrally located in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement in the Marais, one of my favorite neighborhoods in Paris. I hadn’t stayed in this particular part of the Marais before and quickly fell in love with it. Coffee shops and incredible boulangeries are just a few minutes away by foot. Plus, Rue Montorgueil is just around the corner. More on that later in this post. There is so much within walking distance of the apartment and a metro nearby for accessible public transport.

Maison Chapon is a rare elevator building. It helped a lot when I arrived jet-lagged with heavy luggage. The elevator is small but typical of Paris standards. I preferred to take the stairs throughout my visit because I wanted the extra steps, and it was an easy two flights.

The Paris Apartment Has Great Storage and Is Professional Decorated

The Paris apartment is professionally designed and decorated with bespoke finishings. I loved the ample closet space throughout. It felt like every detail was thought out for the owner. There are two bedrooms, the master bedroom with an en suite bathroom. The second bedroom is off the main room with a fold-up couch, which can also be used as an office with sliding doors for privacy.

Inside the master bathroom, there is great storage under the sink, allowing everything to be organized and put away neatly. A hair dryer, iron, and steamer are also available. Down the hall from the entrance, you will find the second smaller bathroom, which can also be used as a guest WC and includes a shower.

The kitchen has everything you need to host or cook a meal, including a larger fridge. Maison Chapon also includes a beautiful dining table next to the tall Parisian windows. I loved working in this space during the day with the windows open. Rue Chapon is a narrow, small, quiet street. The mirror and mantle are from the well-known Marché aux Puces, the famous flea market at the city’s northern tip.

One of the key features of a Marais apartment is the beautiful beamed ceilings. There is a custom Italian leather sleeper sofa for extra guests to enjoy. Also, make yourself at home and watch your favorite Netflix or movies on the Samsung art TV hanging over the Parisian mantle.

Maison Chapon includes weekly cleaning and linen service, so you don’t have to stress about maintaining the apartment during your visit. It will be cleaned and prepared for the next owner to arrive ready to enjoy their stay. The apartment is expertly managed.

Where to Eat, Drink, and Explore around Maison Chapon

Rue Montorgueil is filled with shops, restaurants, and lively cafés to people watch.

Poulette Paris Steak Frites

Rue De Nil has an adorable cheese shop, boulangerie, and coffee shop just a few minutes walking from the apartment.

A favorite restaurant during my latest trip was Parcelles located on Rue Chapon just a few doors down. I encourage you to make reservations and you must try the gnocchi.
