Links I Love Week 41

This week was a busy one! Thank you so much for all of those who ordered calendars. A lot of you are getting them now who preordered them. I appreciate your patience. I was overwhelmed with orders and it took me a lot longer to get through them than expected. The feedback has been wonderful. I put my heart and a lot of time into this project and it makes me so happy that they are being well received. I know that money is tight for a lot of people, I am really grateful for your support.

P.S. While I have been busier than usual, I have kept up with the 100-day challenge which has meant doing yoga in my bedroom at 9:30 at night. I canā€™t surrender now. If you started on September 1st, you are close to hitting the 50-day mark soon.

This week is full-on Fall in Chicago and my seven-year-old niece asked to see what Fall looks like. She is currently in South Florida and doesnā€™t get to see the leaves. I took her on a Facetime stroll in my neighborhood over the weekend.

I had a terrible time sleeping this week. Partly, because I think I was overtired and it just kept getting worse. So this 52 Stages of Insomnia hit home for me. Anyone else?

5 TV Series to Transport You to Paris (that arenā€™t Emily in Paris)

Last weekā€™s Paris map blanket from Anthropologie is now on SALE! Plus, I found the most adorable Paris mug and matching plate for Christmas. So many of you have ordered this since I posted on Facebook and Instagram. I can see myself with hot chocolate and Christmas cookies this December. (this has probably been the most popular item I have ever posted about in terms of readers who have purchased)

What have you cooked? via (NYT) Did you ever think of starting a quarantine diary of what you have cooked over the months/ year of 2020? I have everything on my phone. I need to do better of sharing with all of you my time in the kitchen.

I bought myself my first set of Airpods so I can listen to music at my desk. Why did I wait so long? P.S. These are $30 off.

This New Parisian Hotel is all about vivid contrasts and colors

JCrew is selling a Vote t-shirt and donating 50% of the sales to When We All Vote. YES! I love that they are using their platform to encourage people to get out and vote.

This popular Van Gogh exhibit is coming to the US

P.S. If you are in Chicago, the croissants at PHlour have become my new favorite. They are available at Green City Market on Saturdays or their storefront. It is $4 so not your $1 croissant from Paris but totally worth it!

Rifle Paper Co launched the cutest and affordable advent calendars.

I finally broke down and purchased the camera bag from Cuyana. This will be great for neighborhood strolls and having my hands free. Plus, I can fit my phone, hand sanitizer, and my keys along with my Fuji camera. It arrives this week! I checked it in-store in February and it was on my wish list. Since the price dropped and I have been in the market for a good quality bag, I felt it was time.

I sent this one to my sister. 30 Easy Icebox cookies to get you ready for the holidays. I am not a pumpkin fan but give me ALL the peppermint for Christmas.

The French Secret to Ratatouille, a last taste of Summer

This Tiktok video went viral for a good reason. It is a short video, but it will make you smile. The article is from CNN so you donā€™t need Tik Tok to see it.

Caudalie Friends and Family 20% off ends today. I know as part of the 100-day challenge I wasnā€™t supposed to buy more skincare but this deal was too good to pass up.

A reader shared this adorable Paris baby blanket. This makes a great gift idea for a Francophile friend.

As a shutdown in Paris begins, Paris is adapting the only way it knows how

With colder weather in the near future, I am on the hunt for new sweatpants for hanging at home. I have to be honest, I never did the whole quarantine pajamas thing but on the weekends it is nice to just relax on the couch with the newspaper in a pair of sweatpants. I asked for reader suggestions and the three that stood out were, Old Navy, Vuori, and Aerie Joggers. I ordered both the Old Navy and Aerie Joggers and will report back.

    Au Revoir

  2. Loved this weeks list! Spent 5 days in London right before Christmas last year so ordered the London Cup/Saucer as a reminder.

Also loved the story of Audrey Hepburn. "Roman Holiday" is my favorite movie. In 1985, when I was still living in Chicago, I was invited by a client to attend a dinner honoring her at the Conrad Inn and Towers. At the cocktail reception she did a meet and greet and could not have been nicer. She was stunning in red Givenchy and I am so sorry Smart Phones with cameras did not exist then as I know a picture with her would be one of my prized possessions! A funny story about that some night is that Oprah was also at the dinner and at the time she had just gone national and did not have the fame she has today. I did not even make an effort to meet her. Today, I definitely would!

    • Barbara,

Thank you so much for the stories! I love hearing about Audrey and Oprah. I know the photo would have been a prized possession but having that moment off camera is just as nice. Sometimes, I think memories are best made without smartphones and being in the moment. I love Audrey and I am really happy to hear she was lovely in person. I have met Oprah, 25 years ago. She was kind in person, but it didn’t live up to the hype.
