Last year I introduced The Paris Diaries which was a lot of fun letting you into my life here in Paris. I wrote every day and I am not sure if it was too much so I scaled back a bit. If you want to know more just tell me!
You may be wondering how am I doing with My Paris Agenda? Sleep is going okay. You may know by now that I am not the best sleeper. Since I am here for a month I really have cut down on the early morning wake-up calls. I am going to bed much later than I do at home mainly because I am playing catch up with the States when I am back at the apartment towards the end of the night with work and emails. I run a print shop through Etsy so I try to get back to customers quickly and place orders for my customers.
I have been drinking a lot of coffee and spending time at cafés. I really love the people watching and you can make friends easily if you are traveling solo. I have been getting requests for my favorite cafés in different neighborhoods. If you are interested in a specific neighborhood shoot me an email or comment below and I will try to add it to the list!
I LOVE my neighborhood. I am in Le Marais which I have stayed in before but a different part. This area is less touristy and there are so many great spots on every corner. I literally walk outside my door and have the choice of a few different boulangeries and cafés.
My hunt for the best croissant has been going well! I didn’t expect so many great croissants and so many not so great ones. After you have a good one you just don’t want to eat one that is mediocre. I hope my list will help you take the guesswork out while you are here.
I have done a lot of exploring by foot and manage to do on average about 10 miles per day. This helps with the croissant consumption! I am exploring with friends or by myself and I have loved seeing old places that bring back memories or new spots I have not seen yet. The city continues to surprise me!
I recently took the bus home with a friend who lives in my neighborhood. It was my first bus ride in Paris and as we passed the Seine I saw the sunset. I immediately nudged her and asked if we could get off to catch the sunset. She gave in and we enjoyed this amazing view. The wait for the bus home was longer than we anticipated and the bust was packed. But I think it was well worth it. If you have taken the bus I would love to know your favorite routes. I am open to taking it more soon!
Lastly, my peony budget is out the window already as the markets are filled with them. There are small peonies and larger ones. Spend the money on the larger ones. My small ones have yet to open from Thursday and the larger ones are fragrant and beautiful!
When I am not writing here I am taking notes on different content ideas for visiting/living in Paris so don’t worry there is a lot more to come long after I am home. I am enjoying every minute I promise. Thank you all for your sweet words and encouragement. I am so happy to have you along for the journey.
