Earlier in July, we were able to head to one of our favorite places in the city: The Art Institute of Chicago.
Getting lost among the paintings and sculptures bathed in gorgeous natural light… it gives us such a feeling of contentment. This fantastic museum, one of the best in the country, is filled with masterpieces from some of the greatest artists to ever live. And art aside, the architecture in this place is just stunning. From the pair of giant bronze lions at the front entrance, to the magnificent central staircase, to the beautiful archways throughout the building, everything about the museum is noteworthy and beautiful.
Take a peek at some of our favorite French artists’ work, and make sure to check out this amazing museum next time you visit Chicago.
Paris Street ; Rainy Day | Gustave Calliebotte | 1877
Woman at Her Toilette | Berthe Morisot | 1975/80
A Sunday on La Grande Jatte | Georges Seurat | 1884/86
Marc Chagall | America Windows | 1977
In the warmer months, don’t miss the outdoor garden space. We fell hard for this beautiful space just outside the glass doors that reminded us of Luxembourg Gardens in Paris. Pack a book or sandwich to enjoy while soaking up the sun.
The Art Institute is a national gem and we are so lucky to have it in our city! Also, your dress is adorable!
