12 Best Paris Hotels with a View

When it comes to booking a hotel in Paris, I love a room with a view. If it is your first time in Paris or you are celebrating a special milestone, I can’t think of a better way to enjoy Paris after a long day or early morning with a cup of coffee and a view of the city. Not all of these Paris hotels have Eiffel Tower views but also offer street views and other Paris monuments. Some of these hotels offer small rooms but still have fantastic views of Paris. I hope this post on the best Paris hotels with a view help with your planning for an upcoming trip.

Grand Hotel du Palais Royal

Grand Hotel du Palais Royal is a personal favorite of mine of Paris hotels. It is located just outside Palais Royal which is a smaller garden tucked away from the Louvre. The hotel has a suite with panoramic views of the city of Paris. You will have an Eiffel Tower view for when it sparkles along with seeing the Arc de Triomphe and Grand Palais. It is in the heart of Paris and a 5-minute walk to Palais Royal and the Louvre museum. You can beat a more central location than this. I recommend this hotel to all my friends looking for a luxury boutique hotel in Paris. I have stayed here three times and truly love the hotel.

The rooms are beautifully decorated and modern. There is a Nespresso machine in the room but I highly recommend the buffet breakfast in Le Lulli. Grab some of the croissants and brioches. You may recognize the hotel’s location and facade from Emily in Paris.

Cour de Vosges

Place des Vosges Paris hotels views

Cour de Vosges doesn’t have an iconic Parisian hotel of all the famous landmarks. Instead, it sits in the heart of Place des Vosges. The hotel has the best views of the square in the center of the Marais. You cannot beat the location in terms of being a short walk to the Picasso museum, Centre Pompidou, and the Seine. The hotel is small and has only a few hotel rooms but you will feel like a guest in someone’s home with tailored attention to detail. The rooms are just a few years old and have all modern technology with USB ports for charging and flat-screen TV.

Hôtel San Régis

Hotel San Regis is tucked away on a quiet street in the heart of the Golden Triangle in the 8th arrondissement. You can enjoy the Champs-Elysées, Avenue Montaigne, and the Grand Palais. The hotel is a restored private mansion that has 30 bedrooms and 12 suites. The hotel is family owned and operated. The Terrace Junior Suite has a breathtaking view of the Eiffel Tower.

I have not stayed here but the Eiffel Tower suite has been on my list. It books up fast so plan in advance if you are looking to book this room.

Le Meurice

Le Meurice Paris hotels view of the Tuileries

Le Meurice is a five-star hotel located in the city center overlooking the Tuileries garden. It is a prime location for visiting what my friends call postcard Paris which includes île st Louis, Notre Dame, Saint Germain de Près, and the Louvre. It is close proximity to a majority of Paris except for Montmartre and the Eiffel Tower. You can certainly walk to these places in the city they will just be longer walks and may require café breaks in between.

You may have to upgrade to a premium room for a view of gardens vs an indoor courtyard view of the building. Both are beautiful to wake up to. I personally would prefer a city and garden view especially one with an Eiffel Tower view.

If the hotel isn’t in your budget, I highly recommend having a drink or high tea in the hotel for an afternoon or evening.

Hôtel la Comtesse

Paris hotels

I stayed at Hotel la Comtesse after doing research on hotels and I really was looking for a hotel with an Eiffel Tower view. This hotel was still budget-friendly, especially in comparison to some of the other hotels in this post. The location is just off the Champ de Mars which is the perfect place if you are looking to explore this part of Paris. I highly recommend splurging for the private balcony with views of the Eiffel Tower. It always feels like a challenge with booking hotels online especially if you are unsure if there will be a view from the room you get upon check-in. I paid an extra upgrade fee when booking the hotel to make sure that I had a view of the Eiffel Tower. There is a side balcony option and there is also a direct view with private balconies. If you are celebrating a big milestone birthday, anniversary, or honeymoon, I would book one of these.

Le Metropolitan Paris Tribute Hotel

The Metropolitan Paris hotel is located in the 16th arrondissement just steps from the Eiffel Tower and the Champs-Elysées. There is an indoor swimming pool and fitness center to unwind after a long day of site seeing or walking around the city of Paris. The suites have views of the Eiffel Tower. If you can splurge, I recommend the Eiffel Suite. You may recognize this photo from The Print Shop. I had the opportunity to visit this hotel with a friend in 2015 and shot this image. It was a crazy opportunity that happened and we were very lucky to be in the right place at the right time and I had my camera. I would love to stay in this room and wake up with this view. This is a Marriott property so if you have points or status, this is a good hotel to bookmark for an upcoming stay in Paris.

Cheval Blanc

I have been waiting for the restoration of the historic La Samaritaine department store to be complete. It took 16 years to bring the building back to life and Cheval Blanc occupies part of the building. This is a luxury hotel new on the scene as of 2021. I had the opportunity to tour the hotel last October and it is stunning. There are floor-to-ceiling windows in the rooms with views over the Seine River at Pont Neuf and onto the Left Bank of Paris. You can see my favorite Place Dauphine to the left as you look out onto the Seine. To the right is Notre Dame cathedral which is still under the restoration process after the fire. It truly is the perfect location There have been many times I have stood on Pont Neuf outside soaking in every bit of Paris. To be a few floors up in the privacy of your own hotel room with the same view is a dream. There is a rooftop terrace on the top floor where you can see the same views with a cocktail, lunch, or dinner.

The Pont Neuf metro station sits right outside the hotel to give you easy access to the rest of Paris. My favorite method to get around the city is walking but it is nice to have the metro to get from one side of Paris to the other. The Eiffel Tower is a destination location from Cheval Blanc and may require a car, bike, or metro ride.

Kimpton St Honore

Kimpton Paris St Honore is a new hotel that recently opened in Paris. I stayed here in April. It has a great location just minutes away from the Opèra, close by to Montmartre, the Louvre, and Palais Royal. The front-facing rooms have views of the Opèra and the city’s rooftops. The interior rooms which I had, have a courtyard view. I would splurge and request a front-facing room which I didn’t know was an option. The upper floors will have amazing views and you can see the Eiffel Tower from some of them. There is also a rooftop terrace for drinks which has a spectacular view no matter what room you have. You can see the Eiffel Tower sparkle with a cocktail in hand or watch the sunset in the evening.

Hotel le Walt

Hotel le Walt is located on the Left Bank of Paris close to the Champ de Mars. Some of the best rooms have Eiffel Tower views. The rooms that have wonderful views are of a smaller size, especially for American standards. The view makes up for the small space. The hotel has outstanding reviews from travelers and is a 4-star boutique hotel. This won’t break the travel budget but you will still be able to have the view with a great value on a room in Paris.

Pavillon des Lettres

Pavillon des Letrres is a boutique hotel located in the 8th arrondisement of Paris close to Rue Saint Honore. The hotel has 26 rooms all named after French authors. There is a small but lovely lobby to have breakfast or read the paper. You can take bikes out from the hotel for a bike ride around the city. The location is not far from The Tuileries and the great shopping the city has to offer. Some of the rooms have balconies and views of the Eiffel Tower.

Grand Powers

Grand Powers Hotel is the sister property to Grand Hotel du Palais Royal and has the same owners. The hotel is located just off the Champs Elysées and in a prime location for exploring the city. If it is your first trip to Paris and you are limited to time and want to see the major city sites, I always recommend this hotel as a great location. The hotel has been recently renovated and the guest rooms are all equipped with modern technology. There are views of the Eiffel Tower from some of the rooms as well as balconies looking out onto the city.

Hotel Splendid Etoile

This hotel is located close to the Arc de Triomphe with rooms looking out onto the monument. The Hotel Splendid Etoile is a 4-star hotel that needs a bit of updating. If you are looking for a wow factor view of that Instagram-worthy I made it to Paris shot, this is it! Take breakfast on your Parisian balcony overlooking Paris and soak in one of the most iconic views of Paris. The rooms with the views of the Arc de Triomphe are marked on the site when booking so you know exactly what you are getting in terms of a view.

Along with a great view, I do value a great Parisian breakfast, free wi-fi, and air conditioning in the summer are essential. Make sure to look for these amenities when booking your stay at one of these hotels.

  1. We recently stayed at The Jules and Jim in the upper Marais area. While not having a view, it is a lovely hotel that feels so private and has an inner courtyard for breakfast and late afternoon apero.

  2. Le Meurice is gorgeous but super expensive. Hotel Brighton is next door at 1/3 of the cost with the same views. I’ve stayed in the Tuilleries room with 2 Juliet balconies and it was amazing.

    • Hi Lisa,

Great tip! Thank you so much. I had Le Meurice booked for my 40th birthday in Paris but had to cancel last minute. I would love to see the views from Hotel Brighton 🙂

  3. We just stayed at the San Regis in the Jr Terrace Suite for my 40th birthday this past May and it was right out of a movie. The view, the rooms, the vibe, the staff..the LOCATION, it was all just perfect! Highly highly recommend!

    • Hi Shane,

That sounds amazing! What a great way to spend your 40th birthday. Paris memories for a lifetime.
