Winter Coat Edit

Winter Coat Edit

Winter is fast approaching and that means cold weather and snow. As someone who lives in a colder climate, I wear a coat 6 months out of the year. Winter coats are an investment but with the sales coming up soon, it was the perfect opportunity to share some different styles and price points to help you find the perfect investment piece for the years ahead.

In Paris last year and this year, I noticed the navy wrap coat was THE coat that Parisian women were wearing. I didn’t have much luck finding one last fall but this year, there are some great options. Fashion trends that I spot in Paris are usually on their way to the US in the next year so this gives me a hint on what to invest in.

My pro tip is to go with classic colors and you can mix in a fashion accessory if you want to change things up with a scarf or hat. The top styles are long belted wool coats.

Below are some of my favorite coats that I have found that I own, on my wish list, or would purchase. I hope this helps in the hunt for your next coat.

Winter Coat Edit

Cashmere Jenni Kayne Olive Coat this one is absolutely stunning. I love the olive color and Jenni Kayne is currently 25% off for members. This is the time to invest.

Madewell Haydon Coat is currently 40% off. I love the button placement on this jacket.

Cashmere Tie Waste Coat from Nadaam this one is stunning and on the higher-end price point of the coats I shared but it is beautiful. I love black for a classic look.

Cos Belted Herringbone Coat the herringbone looks more dark grey and isn’t as pronounced. The price of $290 is great and it will make any outfit look pulled together with this on top.

The cashmere Peacoat comes in an amber color which can be worn open for a more casual look or buttoned to keep warm from the cold. This is currently 25% off at Jenni Kayne.

Boden Long Belted Coat I love the green color on this for a change. The style is still classic with a fun twist.

Wool Blend Crombie Coat I am crushing on the red version from Boden and it is on sale. They have a variety of colors and sizes. It has great reviews and selling fast.

Ted Baker Wool Wrap Coat (on sale) this coat comes in camel or a dark emerald green that is right on trend.

Lady Top Coat J.Crew this coat is a classic style from J.Crew and will keep you super warm on cold days. It runs small so order up a size. Currently on sale

Villa Coat in Stadium Wool I want the red one! Red is my color and I have been waiting patiently for a red coat for years.

Cocoon Coat in Stadium Wool I own this one in black. It’s a great class J. Crew coat that you will have for seasons.

Long Wool Blend Coat by Sandro This will be in your wardrobe for years. It is great quality and you will want to wear it over and over.

Voluminous Belted Wool Coat from & Other Stories has been selling out quickly. Order down a size. The brand is a bit tricky and I never know to size up or down. This coat runs big but you might want to order two sizes just to see what works.

The Winter Coat Edit

Relaxed Belted Wool Coat this runs big so size down. It’s currently on sale in the navy which I just added to my cart.

Mederick Coat Sezane I have the camel and they just released the navy which I love and would want in a heartbeat

Johnson Coat in Camel is the one I own and love and have worn it for many seasons. I have size 36. You might want to size up if you have bulky sweaters or in between sizes

Marc Coat Houndstooth This is just stunning. Houndstooth is going to be a trend for a bit so invest in this incredible coat. On my wish list.

Thank you so much for the valuable feedback from readers. I have added size-inclusive brands and coats below. Nadaam has a wide variety of styles at 40% off right now.

  1. Its basically impossible to find a nice dress coat (wool or wool/cashmere) in an XL. The &Other Stories coat is beautiful but only goes to a L. Sezane is also limited sizing as is COS. As another commenter requested, please add a few coats if you can find them that are a true XL. Thank you.
