What to Pack for a Ski Weekend

My first time skiing was earlier this year and I walked into it clueless. I had no idea what to pack. Thanks to a lot of helpful readers, I was able to get everything I needed for a ski weekend. I hope this post helps someone else in the planning process. If there is anything I am missing, comment below and share.

Everything I packed for a ski weekend is in my AWAY bag. (you can save $20 using my code here)

I highly recommend these packing cubes. They have been a game changer and keep me organized. I can keep everything in it’s own zippered pouch and I can fit more in my suitcase.

My Cuyana Travel Case is one of the favorite things I own. I use one for makeup and one for skincare.

I don’t normally wear a hat out but I heard it was a key accessory for skiing. I wore my red hat for après ski and I even got carded at a bar wearing it 😉 the bouncer told me I looked 10 years younger.

Carbon 38 has great ski sweaters, jackets and pants

Moosejaw is a great resource for ski pants and ski bibs.

Uniqlo has great inexpensive heat tech gear to wear under your ski clothes to keep warm.

I bought my Northface jacket at Nordstrom over Christmas and it was on sale. It was a choice between black or bright red. The only one that was left was red so I grabbed it. It is good to have bright colors on the mountain so people can find you.

Supergoop Sunscreen. I was so happy to see this great brand all over Colorado at the shops. I had no idea how important it was for extra sunscreen on the mountain but now I know. I packed sunscreen and Supergoop lip balm with SPF.

The one thing people failed to mention is what I should wear under my ski jacket as far as a bra. I ended up wearing my lululemon bra that I work out in. For under my ski pants, if it wasn’t too cold, my leggings worked great.

I forgot my sunglasses the first time around but I made sure to pack them for the second trip to the mountain. I had no idea how important sunscreen and sunglasses were when skiing until now.

I didn’t own snow boots until this year. I had always worn tall rubber boots from a shop in Paris. I finally got a pair of Sorels and I love them. They are currently on sale here. I would recommend grabbing them on sale for next year.
