Links I Love Week 35

Shop Summer on île St Louis

It has been nice to be back in Chicago and get back into a routine. I love the weeks when I meal prep and grocery shop to have fresh and healthy options at home. There is no “back to school” when you are an adult but I always like to get a fresh set of pens and office supplies to start new again. I ordered a new desk and moved the location to the front room by a window. I can’t wait to see how the new space inspires my creativity. I put a Paris photo above the desk to make it feel like I have a view of the city from my window.

Grab your coffee and croissants and join me for this week’s links.

Searching for Old Paris? Stay at the Historic Hotel Lutetia

This Qantas video brought me to tears. Even if you have no ties to Australia, you will find this relatable. I was still crying 20 minutes later. Next weekend will be the first weekend I am with my mom, dad, sister, and kids under the same roof in 2 years! (as long as we stay healthy) the built-up emotions behind that are causing all the tears.

Travel used to be my identity. How do I move forward? I can relate to this so much. I wrote a year with no travel in this post here earlier this year.

The Bonne Mamman 2021 Advent Calendar has been restocked with 18 left. The price has gone up but this is a hot item and will sell out!

I wrote a blog post on How to Frenchify Your Home Office and I ended up buying a new desk and came up with a plan to move my desk closer to a window for better light. I ordered this desk which arrived at record speed especially with so many shipping delays. It fits the space perfectly and I have it right next to a window for natural light.

I found this post amusing, did you know that different regions of the US have different ice cream flavors?! How does your state rank?

The return of pandemic anxiety and how to deal with it. This is me! My heart raced just reading this and knowing I can relate.

Soludos espadrilles are on major sale. I got these adorable ones full price earlier this year and now they are $26!! I would size up half a size. I got the 8 and could have done the 8.5

Kerzon candles are back in stock at Nordstrom. I have the Place des Vosges one and love it. If you are looking for a way to transport yourself to Paris this Fall I would grab one of these. They sell out quickly so don’t sleep on this one.

A late summer tart from a master of misunderstood master of French cooking.

Last week I shared a recipe with a link to a book instead of the actual recipe. Since the recipe was not my own to share, I couldn’t share it. David Lebovitz discusses this well with recipe attribution on his site. I hope you all will understand and respect this as I link and share more recipes and cookbooks. ❤️

Vaccine card accessories. I never thought about these but if you are traveling to Europe it isn’t a bad idea. I keep a photo of it on my phone but as more places require your card to enter, it is good to have it in a safe spot.

  1. Thank you for all of the great links this week! The Advent calendar is the best! Love all the Fall boots. Do you have suggestions in any of your past blogs for great shoes for travel? I am going to Spain in November and would love some suggestions for comfortable/fashionable boots/shoes. Thank you!

    • Hi Colleen,

Thank you. ❤️ Yes! I have a favorite brand for shoes called Blondo which is sold at Nordstrom. They are waterproof. I will be sharing a packing list for Paris in the Fall in the next couple of weeks that can be applied to Spain as well. Safe travels.

      xo

  2. Hi Rebecca, we’re leaving for Paris on Saturday and already have tickets to visit Hotel de la Marine and reservations to eat at Cafe Laperouse Concorde – on my birthday :-). Can’t wait!

    • Hi Lisa,

Fantastic! I can’t wait to hear about Hotel de la Marine. Have a fabulous trip and Bon Anniversaire 🥳

  3. Finally scored some croissants at Phlour yesterday. Excellent, but not so for the baguette, which lacked the holes inside caused by the rises and turned out very ordinary. Perhaps it was the humidity or the fact that the baguettes in France cannot be duped here.
By the way, was that you outside the market yesterday? I wasn’t sure because no Henri, although there were several other doodles there.

    • Hi Patti,

I am happy to hear you were able to experience Phlour. The baguettes aren’t my favorite of theirs but I really enjoy their sourdough loaves. Currently eating their olive bread with butter while I type. Henri and I were at the market yesterday. I am not sure if it was me that you saw if there was no Henri. We always go together. 🐶
