Holiday Home Decor Ideas 2024
Holiday Home Decor Ideas 2024
Cue the Christmas music because it is beginning to look and feel a lot like Christmas. We don’t celebrate Christmas in our household, but I love the decorations, which bring me joy. Our front room used to be filled with a ping pong table, dart board, and bean bags. It was barely used, and it was missing a female touch. When I moved in, I added some cozy features, including two velvet couches, a coffee table, and a mirror above our fireplace. Around the holidays, I love to add some festive decor, especially because Chicago is dark and cold in December. These are some of my favorite holiday home decor ideas for 2024.
1. Department 56 Christmas in The City $170 My mom used to collect these as a kid, and I loved setting them up each holiday season. We even had a train going through them one year. It brought us so much joy as kids.
2. Festive Bistro Monogram Mug $14 I have the regular version, and my husband steals it and uses it all the time. I bought him one as a gift. This is a great gift for the coffee or tea lover to enjoy throughout the holiday season.

3. Feu de Bois Diptyque Candle It comes in multiple sizes. My husband loves the scent of this woodsy fireplace candle.
4. Mackenzie Childs Snow Globe $99 currently 25% off. My mom used to also collect Mackenzie Childs everything when I was growing up. Now my sister has continued on with the tradition.
5. Velvet Clip-on Bows $30 I love the pop of red for the holidays. I just bought a similar bow for my hair. They are trending right now and this seems like an easier option but more expensive than creating your own. You can reuse these year after year.
6. Paris Holiday in the City Dishtowel $24 Taking a boat down the Seine was one of my favorite memories in Paris on my last trip in October. I don’t love the pop of purple but the scene makes me very happy.

7. Pine Forrest Bottle Brushes are $48 for a set of 9. These are so popular with readers yearly. Decorate with your Department 56 pieces or add them to your mantle.
8. Faux Twinkling Tree Anthropologie: I have never bought a tree, but it is an investment that pays off over time. Our pine garland sheds so much I can’t imagine a tree for a month. This is a great option.
9. Peppermint Bark. It wouldn’t be the holidays without Williams Sonoma peppermint bark. My sister and I both love this. I get a box as a gift from my printer every year and share it with my family.
10. Spode Dinnerwear Set This is on major Black Friday Sale! $175 from $440. A set you will bring out each year for Christmas.
11. Berry Wreath $149 Add to your front door for a pop of color. You can use this for years to come with your berry garland.

12.Holiday Cookie Cutters $12 I make the same recipe each year and they are always a hit. Cookie cutters required and these are festive for the holiday season.
13. Classic Velvet Stocking that can be monogrammed. $26.50 I love a good monogram and this is a fun addition for new family members.
14. Faut Lit Mixed Greens Wreath and Garland from Pottery Barn $79-$229 Comes with an on off switch to make your home festive and warm. Another reusable investment piece.
15. The Illuminated Mantle Christmas Village is on sale for $98. It’s a perfect addition to the mantle—just add garland!
16. Snowy Forest Doormat $48: Wish for a white Christmas or a snowy December? This fun and festive addition to your front door is a great way to express your wishes. If you have garland and lights, that would be even better!
17. Tree Taper Candles were already sold out when I wrote this post.

19. Faux Berry Garland $99 We use this each year for a pop of color. These hold up well over time, and we intermix fresh garland and lights on the mantle.
20. Plaid blanket from Rejuvenation $229 A splurge but a piece you will have for a few seasons.
Also, Don’t miss my advent calendar post—it’s a great way to decorate and celebrate the festive countdown to Christmas.
