My friends have often asked me to share my dating stories on the blog or to write a separate blog. The answer has always been “no” partly because I don’t have enough time in the day, but there is another reason.
I have had a LOT of bad dates, some are so funny and crazy others are just downright not great. But if I shared them, then they would be getting more energy than they are worth. The more energy you spend talking about the negative the less room you have something positive.
When it comes to the good dates, there have been some… When that happens, I am happy to share with friends and family because I am up on cloud 9. The person I am dating may be a bit more private than me and I have to respect that they don’t want their life on the internet. So when the time is right and I do find someone I want to shout from the rooftops, I might whisper it instead.
Everyone makes their own decisions, I have just decided to keep some stuff private.
Here is one of my favorite pieces that I wrote last year about being Single. Do you have to wait for prince charming to rescue you, or can you be your own hero?
As my following grows, I have become more and more guarded about the people in my life which is mostly my family. I know that this means I make less money when it comes to brands and partnerships. I didn’t really know what I was getting myself into when I started the blog and I have a larger digital footprint than most people. I have a little more control when I don’t share everything. I know people would love a house tour too but that falls in the same category of privacy.
