Paris: Free Persephone Fragrance Day Spa

When I was in Paris earlier this year I was stuck in a bind. I had a photo shoot set up and my nails were awful. Two weeks into my trip my nail polish was chipping and I forgot nail polish remover. I needed a manicure for the shoot. I was out with my friend Jane of La Cuisine Paris and within minutes I was connected with Lauren of Free Persephone. (once again Jane saves the day) I was able to schedule a last minute appointment for a manicure.

When I first arrived in Paris in 2010 I rarely saw a nail salon and even up until 2013 nail spas were popping up but I wasn’t fluent in French and cleanliness ranks high up on my list of requirements.I did a little research before asking Jane about a recommendation and to my surprise, there were plenty of options but narrowing it down didn’t look easy especially since time was a factor.

The weather wasn’t the best my month in Paris so I arrived via metro instead of walking but was happy to finally be inside Free Peresphone. It was bright, cheery, and I was immediately greeted with a pot of hot tea. Perfect for the rainy weather. They do offer fruit infused water and delicious pastries from Rachel’s Cakes and Broken Biscuits.

I was able to choose my color from a large assortment of nail colors. I decided on a classic French red. The spa uses Priti NYC Products. The whole experience was so relaxing. After running around the city trying to do a million things in one day it was nice to stop and get pampered. In case you are wondering English and French are both used at Free Peresphone

The photo shoot was for Sisley Paris products and my friend Katie Donnelly snapped these of me at Grand Hotel du Palais Royal.

Don’t miss the comfortable chairs at the pedicure station. I just love these prints and I was able to choose my own scent (jasmine) to be mixed with my salt scrub.

One of the many great perks is you can book online! This makes it so easy to get the day and time you want at any time of the day. I have already asked Lauren to open a Free Persephone in Chicago. I hope you get the chance to visit this spot on your next trip to Paris.

  1. I think I met Jane at La Cuisine Paris when I was there for the intensive Macaron making class! She was a complete delight! I really enjoyed her!!
