Links I Love Week 3

Paris had their first snow of the year yesterday and it had me missing the city more than usual. There is nothing like seeing Paris covered in a white blanket. Snow in Paris is rare and I was lucky to see the city in the snow a few times back in 2013. You can see some of my images in this post featuring Paris in the snow here.

A few good sweaters on SALE. This one by Free People comes in a variety of colors and is 40% off. My favorite Madewell sweater is also 40% off and I bought it in a second color.

I did end up investing in these leggings from Madewell and the matching sweatshirt. They shipped fast and they aren’t as high rise as I thought they would be which is good. They remind me of the Everlane leggings but way better. They are tight enough to suck you in but still comfortable and about half the price of Lululemon.

  1. Hi! Love your blog. You are my friend in my head 🙂

So, I love all things French and am also spending a lot of time on DuoLingo to keep my French up. I lived in Paris on and off in 2005 and 2006 so almost the same time as you.

The French show that blew my mind was the Bureau. I still cannot get over it. It remains my favorite show that I have ever watched. EVER. Another French show that I love (although it is dark) is Spiral.

The Parisian apartment featured in AD is off the charts gorgeous. I cannot imagine how expensive it is. What a dream to live there!

  2. I’ve been looking for streaming French TV shows recently to help with language comprehension and pronunciation. If you’re into procedurals at all, season 1 of "Origins" on Amazon Prime is pretty good.

I’ve been faking my commute for a few months now, since I realized that what I really missed was walking in my door at the end of the day and mentally switching over to "home me." Somewhat ironically, my office is a 10 minute walk from my apartment, so often I’ll just walk to the building’s front door and then turn around and come right back home (that route includes a stretch along the riverfront, and watching the water for a few minutes is kind of calming). It really does create a great mental buffer.

  3. Call My Agent is great, eagerly awaiting the last season. If you like House of Cards, check out Marseille on Netflix. Unfortunately only 2 seasons, but it’s my favorite that I’ve watched in the past year.

  4. Thanks for the heads up on the Audrey Hepburn documentary. "Roman Holiday" is my favorite movie. I was lucky enough to meet her in the mid-1980’s and she was charming, absolutely beautiful and did a quick favor for me for a male friend who absolutely worshipped her (she signed an autograph to him saying "With admiration. Audrey Hepburn." He was the foster father to a little boy with aids at a time the entire world was terrified of anyone with aids. I had it framed and he could not have been more appreciative. One of the best gifts I have ever given and I have Audrey Hepburn to thank! One of my favorite life memories. Only wish cell phones would have been invented as there were no cameras around!

  5. Can’t wait for the new season of Call My Agent starting this week- we’ve watched the previous three seasons twice. We found Spiral (Netflix French police procedural) too violent and the first episode of Lupin disappointing (after all the buzz)- but like Goldilocks and the 3 bears Call My Agent just right!

  6. Hi Rebecca, I love your posts, especially the Sunday morning ones. There are always intersting articles and shopping tips, many of which I’ve followed (like M.Gemi shoes, which I’d never heard of and a beautiful mirror from Anthropologie like yours). I’ve also purchased several of your beautiful photos and note cards. So, I guess you could say I’m a fan.
