Links I Love Week 5

The weather in Chicago was crazy cold this week. The Polar Vortex gave us -50 F wind chill temperatures on Wednesday. We were all told to stay inside. Dance was cancelled for two days straight so by the time Friday came around, the whole city was alive with people just happy to be out and about. I met a friend for lunch on Friday and I met a new blogger friend for wine. I don’t really meet many bloggers for a few reasons but, Jess Keys was better in person than on the internet. We were laughing so hard we were crying about 15 minutes into meeting each other so I knew would be friends. I hope we get to collaborate on something fun in 2019.

Samantha Brown was one of the first travel guides I saw on TV and I dreamt of having her job one day. This is a great article on her thoughts on travel experiences. The small moments are just as important as the big ones.

I am not a big makeup person, but if there is one thing I won’t leave the house without it is mascara. I have been using Sisley So Intense Mascara for a few years now and swear by it. They just released SO Volume and I can’t wait to try it. I will report back as this has a lash treatment included in the formula.

The youngest sibling is the funniest according to science. I wonder if my sister agrees? I can’t wait for Bobby to start cracking jokes. We already think he is pretty funny.

Freezing cold temperatures in Chicago caused me to break down and purchase my first pair of sweatpants in forever. I was digging through my drawers and realized, I don’t own a pair.

Update, I splurged on this pair of sweatpants while out with my friend Dawn. We happened to be right by a store and keeping warm and comfy was worth the price tag. I have a feeling I will be wearing these for a LONG time. Worth the investment.

In case you don’t believe me, Chicago to be colder than Antartica this week

If you have read Beneath A Scarlet Sky, do you wonder about Pino like me?

I finally saw A Star is Born over The Polar Vortex this week. I did enjoy the soundtrack but the movie didn’t get me like it did other people. I almost fell asleep and didn’t shed a tear. Anyone else have thoughts?

Casper just introduced this light for bedtime and it is genius. For $89 this may be a game changer. I want to buy one!

This past Wednesday was National Croissant Day. Here is my top 5 list for favorite croissants in Paris.

This gave me goosebumps knowing the history behind the photo. Rachel Brosnahan pays tribute to Midge and her late Aunt Kate Spade.

I have been really good about not buying much this month, but my favorite Cosabella is on major sale through Gilt. 40% off is totally worth it. So I bought myself a Valentine’s Day Present. I know maybe too personal but this is all I wear.

  1. Agree with you on A Star is Born, instead watch the trailer for “the Mustang” with Atthisa Schoenaerts, which will tug at more emotional strings IMO.
