Beauty : Morning Beauty Routine
I am a total beauty junkie. I fully admit it. I don’t know when it started, but I blame Paris and the pharmacies for my overweight luggage and endless supplies of crèmes. During my first three months in Paris in 2013, I decided to buy my beauty products in France to help lighten the load of my suitcase on the way to Paris. I stopped in at the pharmacy just below my apartment and asked for recommendations. I started with the thermal water from Bioderma. Since that first day in Paris, I stopped washing my face with soap and water and it made such a difference. I still use it now, but recently switched to a milk cleanser by Sisley since my skin is so dry. This is the #1 beauty product people pick up when coming to France. During Fashion Week, girls would buy this in bulk and pharmacies would sell out. Now you can buy it online in the States.
I have traveled back and forth to Paris over the last four years and I have to make a stop to the pharmacy to stock up before flying home. My souvenirs are my photographs, and the beauty products are really the only thing I buy besides French butter…
Over the years I have tried several different products, but these are my favorites. I have a morning routine and an evening routine. My sister makes fun of me all the time because of all the steps I have, but skincare is so important to me. It takes a few extra minutes, but I think it’s totally worth it!
Morning Routine:
- Darphin Milk Cleanser or Bioderma Thermal Water – depending on the season. I use a cotton swap to apply it to my skin.
- Filorga Optim Eyes – eye cream around the eye
- Caudile Vinosource – one pump onto the skin to help hydrate
- Caudile Vinosource – Crème Sorbet – I use a heavier one in the winter months but this is great for Spring/Summer
Suncare:
- Bioderma Photoderm Max – 50+ for the body
- Bioderma Crème Solaire 50+ for the face
- Roc Soleile Protect – just picked this up on my last visit so trying it out.
I try to use at least 50 + on my face and body.
Evening Routine:
- Darphin Milk Cleanser or Bioderma Thermal Water – depending on the season. I use a cotton swap to apply it to my skin.
- Filorga Optim Eyes – eye cream around the eye
- Vinosource Overnight Recover Oil – I use 6 drops
- Optional : Caudile Moisturizing Crème Mask once a week and Caudile Deep Cleansing Exfoliator three times a week.
There are so many different pharmacies all around the city, but a lot of people visit CityPharma close to St. Germain metro for the cheapest prices. I find my time to be way more valuable than saving an extra euro or two. The lines are crazy long and people crowd the aisles. It takes a while to navigate your way through here. I prefer the two pharmacies just across from BHV in the first arrondissement close to the Hotel de Ville metro on Rue de Lobau.
I plan to pick up a few caudalie and la Roche posay products when in Paris. However I also use Amazon as well.
I am the same way! I am running low on some of my favorite caudalie products now and might have to log onto amazon or pop into the store when in nyc. Amazon is such a great resource for french beauty products in a pinch 😉
Certainly good to know for when I visit! 🙂
yes! A lot of the products are available online. You can click the links to purchase through amazon. Save room in your suitcase for when you visit to stock up 😉
